I would like to introduce you to another exciting exercise that you can do indoors in the comfort of your home, office or hotel room.
The key to Age Management Medicine exercise is finding an activity that is fun and functional.
The exercise that I will discuss in this newsletter is an excellent workout that engages your core muscles and does wonders for your balance (as long as you don't fall off).
It is called the Indo Board.

Have Fun While Exercising
Surfer, Hunter Joslin, with more than 40 years of surfing experience, developed the Indo Board Balance Trainer over a 30 year span beginning with the first proto-type in 1975.
Originally designed to train surfers out of the water, Mr. Joslin discovered from his growing cadre of loyal Indo Board fans that the apparatus was much more than a surfing simulator.
Users reported increased leg strength and core fitness while experiencing a high degree of entertainment when using the Indo Board.
The Indo Board Balance Trainers are simple, stable, and user friendly.
Anyone can ride with a few basic instructions and something or someone to hold on to for support.
The learning curve is 10 to 15 minutes for most, after that, Indoboarding becomes routinely easy and fun.

The Indo Board- My recommendations

Although this form of exercise may not be suitable for everyone, I would recommend that you consider it and determine if it might be right for you.
Finding fun and innovative ways to incorporate exercise into our daily life is a necessary part of an Age Management Medicine program.
Indo Board does make different types of balance trainers and there may be one that is appropriate for you.
The IndoFLO Balance Stimulator fits perfectly into any integrated training program.
You can perform single and two legged movements such as squats, lunges and step routines, as well as upper body work including pushups, floor back bridges, utilizing stabiltiy balls, cable and pulley machines.
I wanted to introduce you to this type of exercise because it is an excellent overall workout and incorporates the very important element of balance training.
Balance training has been shown to reduce the incidence of injuries to the ankle, knee, hips, back and upper body.
The role of balance training in maintaining functional joints stability is also an excellent form of rehabilitation for injuries to the above structures.
