Balneotherapy: Taking the Waters
Balneotherapy, bathing in hot springs or mineral waters, is a common ingredient in rejuvenation programs throughout Europe and Asia. There are thousands of mineral springs throughout the world. There likely is one within driving distance of where you live. These are nature's own 'hot tubs' -- idyllic geologic wonders with rejuvenating and healing waters that people have treasured and enjoyed for centuries.

Throughout human history water has played a significant role in healing and rejuvenation. Hot springs and mineral baths are springs of water from deep within the earth that vary in temperature and usually contain minerals, gases and vapors that are believed to have healing properties.

The Europeans have long regarded a vacation as an escape from daily life and an extended visit to a spa or healing springs where they could soak in rejuvenating waters for extended periods of time.
