Greetings!

Hello Friends! Now that summer is here and Father's Day is around the corner, recreation should be a daily goal for everyone- leave work on time, relax with your family, and be creative whenever possible. Flex your creative imagination, try on a new craft or undertake that project you've put off for ages. No matter what you do, bring in the kids this week to paint Dad a perfect platter for his BBQ this summer!

Before you read any further, we must tell you about Family Pet Day this Saturday! We will have the Humane Society and the Animal Shelter out with animals both wild and domestic! Bring your own pets and we will press paws into clay, put paw prints onto pet bowls and treat jars, and even paint our pet onto a pottery pet!

Interested in mosaicing your kitchen, painting a set of new dishes, or making your own jewelry? Swing by Quiggly's and begin any of these projects, or simply stop in to ask our knowledgeable staff "How to" or "What if." We will always show you how to paint pottery, sculpt clay, piece together mosaics, or cut and fuse glass. By the way, in a week, we will be introducing "anytime mosaics!" Walk in without a workshop or appointment and make mosaics at will! Too cool!

Finally, don't forget to book your child's next unforgettable Birthday Party at Quiggly's! We can personalize your child's party to fit almost any interest! Make clay beaded jewelry, have a Princess Painting Party or host the only Pottery Wheel Party in town! Call us for more great party ideas!

Kirby and I would like to thank you for your interest in Quiggly's Clayhouse and its artistic programs. Your support has shown us that we are doing a good thing in the best community.

Where else can you cut and fuse jewelry, glass tiles and sun catchers?
glass fusion

Glass fusing has come to Quiggly's! We got hooked melting wine bottles, and now we are moving on to more dazzling, intricate creations! With glass, you can fuse many things. We can guide you through the process of creating pendants, earrings, tiles and sun catchers.

Once you attend Glass Fusing 101 at Quiggly's, you'll have free reign at all of our glass products and services. So call and sign up before you forget!

Glass Fusing 101 is held every other Thursday, at 6:30 and is so easy! Don't delay, call today!

Thursdays: Raku or Glass Fusing 101

Holy Smokes! You have to see this crazy, fiery process!
raku fire

If you have ever heard of it, then you know. Raku involves placing a red-hot piece of pottery into a "reduction chamber," or in other words, a lidded trash can full of paper.

The fire leaches into the glaze on the piece looking for fuel, rips out ions and turns the piece metallic. Everything not painted turns black from the smoke!

Raku is offered every other Thursday evening at 6:30 P.M. You will paint a piece handmade at Quiggly's, and designed specifically to accentuate the metallic glazes and smokey firing process! Call to reserve your seat.

Are You Puzzled?

Piece together mosaics any day!
mosaic gecko

If you haven't pieced together mosaics, now's the time. This week, we are receiving our very first shipment of glass tessarae and wooden backings, as well as gallons of grout and glue! Make "Welcome" signs for your entryway, create decorative wall art for your patio or nursery, or let your kids build something for their room. It's easier than putting together a puzzle! Call us to learn more!

Now that we have "full scale" mosaics, our Tuesday evening classes will be geared toward advanced mosaic projects. Once a month (instead of every week), we will host a workshop for die-hard mosaicers! From tables to mirrors, large bird-baths to benches, we will show you the goods! Call us for more details, or watch the "Mosaics" link on our website for more details!

COME GET YOUR POTTERY!!!

kiln man
Please stop by Quiggly's and pick up your finished pottery! If you have unfinished pottery, please come by and complete it! We have pieces left from 2005! Please be aware of our "Pick-up Policy." All items made at Quiggly's must be picked up within three weeks of the expected due date. We will make every attempt to contact you prior to your "Pick Up Deadline." In the unfortunate event that we cannot reach you and we believe you have abandoned your creation, we will donate it to Children's Hospital so that it may delight a child in pain. We strongly believe all personal creations will have a better home with a child in need, than sitting on a shelf gathering dust. If you have any concerns about the welfare of your forgotten creation, please call us as soon as possible. All pottery created before May 15 will be taken to Children's Hospital at the end of June.

Our "Pottery Pick-up Policy" also applies to "works in progress." We have numerous projects that have been created at Quiggly's, yet remain here unfinished. All unfinished pottery left at Quiggly's must be finished within two weeks. Any unfinished items left for a greater length of time will be tossed out or finished and donated to Children's Hospital. We will attempt to contact you prior to getting rid of your piece. This also applies to pieces purchased and left at Quiggly's without being painted on at all.
