Brother Ronald Makes Case for Cal Grants
The Oakland Tribune, Contra Costa Times and other local papers published Brother Ronald's appeal to retain full funding for Cal Grants at private, nonprofit colleges, which argued that such aid ultimately saves money for taxpayers and the state. Learn how you can take action.
Commencement Speakers Announced
Tom Meschery '61 (pictured at right), sports legend-turned-poet and teacher, and Jim Fruchterman, founder of Benetech, which harnesses technology to create social change, have been selected to speak at Saint Mary's commencement ceremonies on May 19 and 20.

Shannon Brownlee, author of "Overtreated" and a U.S. healthcare reform advocate, spent a week at Saint Mary's participating in panel and small-group discussions, visiting classes and speaking to the campus community.
MBA Students Help Nonprofits
Last semester, Executive MBA students provided real-world consulting to local nonprofits, including the Discovery Counseling Center, Berkeley Food and Housing Project, Oakland YMCA, Contra Costa Food Bank, Fountainhead Montessori, ARF, Meals on Wheels and Merritt College.
