Saint Mary's welcomed Professor Phyllis Metcalf-Turner as dean of the Kalmanovitz School of Education, effective June 15.


New Vice Provost for Undergraduate Academics

Following a national search, Richard Carp has been appointed vice provost for undergraduate academics, effective July 1. 


$173,000 Grant Awarded for Summer Institute

Saint Mary's received a $173,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to administer the NEH Summer Institute "Dialogues in the Americas: Mexican Literature and Culture in Context."


Education Leader at KSOE Conference

Gordon Jackson, assistant superintendent of the California Department of Education, offered hope and advice at the College's recent Summer Leadership Institute.


SERVE EventAlumni SERVE with Habitat for Humanity

Graduate Business alumni joined forces with Habitat for Humanity to rebuild a home in Contra Costa County. Participate in an upcoming SERVE event this July.

Brother President Ronald Gallagher, FSC '69, was recently appointed as 2011-12 chair of the West Coast Conference President's Council.


Nine student-athletes reached out to a community in Lima, Peru to help renovate a local school and orphanage and spend time with underpriviledged children.


Men's basketball coach Randy Bennett hopes to lead the U.S. to a gold medal at the 2011 FIBA U19 World Championship in Latvia this summer.


The Gaels' former guard, Mickey McConnell '11, was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 31st round as the 944th overall pick in the third day of the 2011 MLB First Year Player Draft.
