Cafeteria Gets a Facelift
The newly rennovated Oliver Hall
Renovated Dining Hall Opens with More Choices and Healthier Fare
Oliver Hall, which has been the dining hall at Saint Mary's for decades, has reopened after renovations that included the creation of a spacious food court with seven stations, including a pizza/pasta bar, a bakery, the Gael grill, a deli, a salad bar and a produce station. There are more vegetarian and vegan options, and items grown in the College's organic Legacy Garden are also available.

Inspiring Wonder, Los Angeles
Meet fellow Los Angeles area alumni, parents and friends for an evening of camaraderie, learning and discussion led by a Saint Mary's faculty member. Includes a reception with hors d'oeuvres and hosted bar, then a presentation by chemistry professor, Joel Burley, who will discuss the impact of global warming on California's parks and forests. A Q & A session will follow.

Saint Mary's music faculty staged a recital in the Chapel on Sept. 23 that displayed their outstanding talents in a wide range of works. A large audience of students, faculty, staff and visitors members nearly filled the Chapel for the performances during the College's Community Time.

Bringing a message of respect for religious tradition and a call for a new youth movement for the 21st century, Eboo Patel, founder and executive director of the Interfaith Youth Core, drew an enthusiastic standing-room-only crowd to Saint Mary's Soda Center Sept.15.

Brother Robert Lecture
Come to campus for the annual Brother Robert Lecture sponsored by the Integral Program, Collegiate Seminar, Philosophy Department and the Saint Mary's College Community of  Christian Brothers. This year's lecture, titled, "Nietzsche and the Horror of Existence," will be given by alumnus Philip Kain '67, professor of philosophy at Santa Clara University.

Alumni are invited to attend the annual Career Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in  Ferroggiaro Quad. We will be showcasing a variety of employers as well as grad schools, law schools, and non-profits. Attire is business professional, bring resumes, and there is no need to register. Elfenworks Center for Fiduciary Capitalism Discussion
The Elfenworks Center for Fiduciary Capitalism invites the public to attend a panel discussion titled: "Global Solutions for a Global Problem? Has the world really learned the lessons from the banking crisis of 2008-2009?" Tuesday, Oct. 6, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Soda Center. RSVP required.

Men's Soccer Receives Votes in Coaches Poll
The men's soccer team starts conference play this month after beginning the season 4-1-3, and receiving a No. 10 ranking in the Far West Region. They also received votes in the national coaches poll for the first time under head coach Adam Cooper.
