Phone Booth Reenactment Makes Headlines WorldwideHundreds crowded the Chapel Lawn on March 25 to witness current students attempt to recreate the famous 1959 phone booth stuffing event immortalized by a photo that made the cover of
Life magazine and was named one of the top 100 pictures of the 20th century. The reenactment story has been featured in news shows, on the web and in newspapers around the globe.

Alumnus Killed in Oakland Police ShootingsJohn Hege, a 1990 Saint Mary's alumnus, was one of four veteran police officers killed by the same suspect in two related events Saturday afternoon. Hege was an organ donor, saving four lives.

Alumni Remember Brother Michael QuinnMembers of the Saint Mary's community, including many alumni, were on hand in the Chapel to remember former College president Brother Michael Quinn on March 19. President Emeritus, Brother Mel Anderson gave the eulogy while Brother President Ronald Gallagher gave the welcome.

Episcopal Lecture Series Focuses on Role of Science in Catholic EducationCome to campus on April 18 for the second annual Episcopal Lecture. Hosted by the John F. Henning Institute, the series of lectures are designed to bring high-level members of the Church to SMC to discuss issues central to Catholic teachings and education in the 21st century. This month's lecture by Bishop John Cummis will highlight Vatican perspectives on science and technology.

Integral Program Hosts Denis Kelly Dinner, Waltz and Brother Robert LectureAlumni and friends are invited to a dinner in honor of longtime professor and alumnus Denis Kelly '60, who is retiring this year, on April 24. Stay after dinner for the annual Integral Waltz. The Brother Robert Lecture and seminar featuring Integral alumnus Dr. Philip Kain '67, philosophy chair at Santa Clara University, will be on the following day. The Gael supporters mingled and listened to student-athletes speak about their College experiences.
