    New Addition on Campus

    Kalmanovitz School of Education Building Dedication
    Filippi Academic Hall, a new 37,000-square-foot classroom building, will open its doors on Saturday, Jan. 26. The building will house the newly named Kalmanovitz School of Education. Alumni are invited to join in the celebration.

    Annual Gaelfest Celebration Features SMC vs. Santa Clara
    Join fellow Gaels at McKeon Pavilion as the men's basketball team takes on the Broncos on Saturday, Jan. 12 in what will be a day filled with special activities for alumni and their families.

    Quarterlife Crisis Conference
    Hosted by SMC, USF, UOP and Notre Dame de Namur, this conference on April 5 is designed for young alumni. There will be sessions on handling your finances, finding a job and dealing with life in your 20s.
    Giving Just Got Easier
    The simpler, improved and more secure gift-giving site for SMC is now online. Donors can give online using debit or credit cards and the gift is processed in real time.

    basketballMen's Basketball Achieves National Ranking
    For the first time in nearly 20 years, the men's basketball team was included in the top 25 ranking of a national poll. Both the AP and ESPN/Coaches poll ranked SMC as No. 24 on Dec. 10. The team has received national media attention, including a featured story on ESPN.com about freshman point guard Patty Mills. This week's ESPN/Coaches poll has them back at No. 24. Watch the team this Saturday on Fox Sports Net Bay Area as they take on the Texas Longhorns in Austin at 3 p.m. (PST). More than 100 Gael fans will be in attendance.
     
    Jessica HoathThree Gaels Ranked in the Northwest Region
    Women's tennis has three athletes currently ranked as part of the top 30 individuals in the Northwest. Jessica Hoath (pictured) achieved the highest ranking in SMC history at No.13, while Stef Ordoveza and Alexandra Poorta also made the list. Spring competition for the Gaels will start on Feb. 3.
