We encourage our sale horses to show as much as possible.
Not just to maintain show-ready condition in front of the buying public, but also to validate price tags. The show record is a tangible measurement of value, a concept almost foreign in equine appraisal, and adding ribbons to records week after week comforts interested Buyers.
Our 2010 numbers, tallied from the sales & leases of a large group of going show horses, demonstrate how continued performance returns a higher sale value. Exchange marketed horses logged an Average Sale Price of $62,000 in 2010. Additionally, 50% of our Buyers spent more than $55,000 on their purchase, and we saw over $3,000,000 in total leases & sales for the year.
And we all know 2010 wasn't exactly a shining example of economic performance...
These admittedly impressive numbers owe a lot to the efforts our horses, riders and trainers: Showing at the top of their game and validating the price tags presented to Buyers. As in any endeavor hard work pays off and, in fact, trickles down. Congratulations to all of our horses, riders and clients; thanks for helping us to our most successful sales year ever. Best of luck to you and keep up the great work in 2011!
