Pony Profiles

I get more nervous than Beau does . . . but Beau will jump around for me no matter what.

Straight from the pony's . . . er . . . kid's mouth! With Pony Finals around the corner we're looking to spotlight some of our vertically challenged stars. Each of our pony mom's has been given the opportunity to provide a more personal account of their partners through a short questionnaire I created. We'll be posting these responses throughout the month on our web site. It's a somewhat bittersweet task for these kids; these cherished pets are actively for sale. I hope you enjoy what they have to say about their ponies.

PONY PROFILE: DREAM TIME BEAU

dreamTimeBeauName of Pony: Dream Time Beau

Division qualified for:  Large Pony Hunters

Name of Rider:  Elizabeth Ranzo

Will this pony also compete in the Pony Medal Final?  Yes

Have you and/or your pony ever been to Pony Finals? If so, what was your favorite part of the experience?  This is our 3rd year going to Pony Finals. I met one of my favorite horse show friends in the airport on the way to Pony Finals for my first time. I love watching the pony jumpers and the auction.

What are your expectations or goals for this year's Finals?  For every competition I work on being smooth and consistent. Beau is such a good boy that I always hope to do the best I can so that he jumps the best he can.

Pony Finals will champion a handful of ponies as the best in the country, but all of our ponies are special in some way. What makes your pony special? (Could be athletic talent or a great personality trait! Or both!) Beau is playful and good tempered. I always trust that he will take care of me even if I make a mistake. He is a good equitation pony as well as a godd hunter pony.

How are you and your pony preparing for Finals?  I spend as much time as I can at the barn every day, riding Beau and other ponies at the barn for practice. Beau and I will go to a few big shows so that we are ready. I also pay special attention to his grooming so that he will be shiny and fit.

A lot of riders get nervous before competition, it's totally normal! Do you think the nerves and excitement of Finals will affect your pony? I get more nervous than Beau does. The less nervous I am the smoother my rounds are - but Beau will jump around for me no matter what.
If your pony could talk, what might he say about the Pony Finals experience? It is sure hot in Kentucky! It is much cooler in New England.

Exchange and Two Junior Hunters at Chagrin Valley Hunter Jumper Classic this week

We will be in attendance at the Chagrin Valley Hunter Jumper Classic this weekend distributing DVDs and marketing horses. We are also available to meet privately with Sellers to discuss listing options for their horses. Horses that list with us at Chagrin will receive a free, private photo shoot.

Also: We have two new listings showing at Chagrin. Both are Large Junior Hunters: One is perfect for move-up and miles and fantastic in the Ch/AA ring, other is very fancy and for the serious 3'6" competitor. Both horses are showing with Jill Knowles of Hidden Knoll Farm. Please contact Amber to arrange to see or try them.

Don't miss out on our newest listings!

DON'T THINK TWICE
Great mover with hack wins out of 17 (Ox Ridge) and 26 (Vermont), plus Pregreen Reserve Champion out of 30 horses at Fairfield. Has great ribbons in 46 & Over Adult Amateurs also. Imported, brought along nicely, will be a very nice Small Junior or AO Hunter.

CARDOSO
Eye-catching and very rideable, a great equitation partner that holds his own in hunter and jumper rings also. Was consistently Champion or Reserve Champion Childrens Hunter in huge company on competitive midwestern circuit throughout Summer '08, and 3rd in his state-wide Medal Final. Competed Grand Prix in Australia until imported in 2007.

KOHI NOOR
Fantastic instinct and balance on this careful mare. "Hallie" started nice and easy in the hunter ring then transitioned to jumpers in summer of 2008. She has worked her way up to Levels 3/4 receiving good ribbons in large company at Lexington and HITS.

PATRIOT USA
Athletic young hunter started nicely and priced well for investment. Patriot is an ISR Premium Foal that has several wins in-hand for USDF and USHJA, several Best Young Horse Tricolors, and won the 2008 Zone VI Championship for 3 y.o. Hunter Breeding. He began his over fences career in 2009 and was Champion Young Hunter and Reserve Champion Baby Green Hunter at Midstates Spring.

As always I'm happy to personally assist Buyers on their search. Just send me a detailed description of your needs and I will not only consider you for all of our current listings, but also keep you in mind for future arrivals.

Sincerely,

Amber Aslin
