And provides me with an excuse to upgrade our video system!
Repeat Exchange Seller Kim Barone recently called about listing one of her young hunters. Sounding somewhat perplexed she informed me the videographer at the new Maffit Lake shows was shooting in Hi-Definition film and inquired if we could use this. Having no idea myself (remember folks, I am a horse trainer by trade, not a techie) I took the videographer's name and number and promised to follow up.
A week later .MTS video file types (say what?) were uploaded to our site and I plopped them into our video computer. It laughed at me.
Long story short I decided it was time to upgrade our video production system, something we haven't done since beginning The Exchange in 2005. Armed with considerably more knowledge and experience than my previous rookie self I decided to build this system from scratch. I visited our local MicroCenter and after a little help from the clerk I had personally selected every specific component of our new system. The clerk smiled and said, "It's going to be faster than mine." The nerd in me beamed.
Fast forward through a tricky build and all the aggravations of reinstalling every piece of software you own and I was finally able to process Uladee's video!
Uladee herself is a very promising young hunter with a fantastic jump. Coming 5 this year she was shown in hand as a youngster and lightly at the end of her 4 year old year. In 2009 she stepped up to the Pregreen division, as well as the Long Stirrup and PreAdults, and has been Champion or Reserve every time out. This horse is very athletic and will excel at 3'6", plus has the brain for a suitable junior or amateur to finish. Uladee can be seen at the Parker, Colorado Summer circuits in July.
