"Good Reason" snags 2nd Place in
$10,000 1.30m Jumper Prix at Palermo
Fresh off a 7/8 y.o. Young Jumper win Good Reason shows she's ready for a stellar 2009 Season.

Alexandra Garrity's (AJ) young mare "Good Reason" may have been quiet all winter long, but she's wasted no time rising to the top of her game now that she's back in the show ring.

Opting to skip Florida in favor of a casual winter in the Northeast AJ's horses began their 2009 Season at the Four Seasons Horse Shows in mid-April, where, as we mentioned last week, Good Reason made her 1.30 start and won the 7/8 yo Young Jumper Championship week 2.

WoodstockWarmed up but not quite ready for the impending pinnacle of horse shows known as Devon, Good Reason opted to swing over to Palermo Horse Shows this past weekend to casually take 2nd Place in the $10,000 1.30m Jumper Prix. She's showing now at Garden State in hopes of adding to this impressive winning streak, and will compete in the 7/8 yo classes next month at the Devon Horse Show.

Good Reason is offered for sale by Alexandra Garrity of Four Seasons Horse Sales in New Jersey. Click here for more information and video.

"As You Wish" earns back-to-back
Tricolors at Brownland Farms
Sharie Maloney's "As You Wish" (Westley) has proven his consistency in a still early 2009 Season.  Warming up with top Pregreen ribbons early in the Wellington season he moved up quickly to First Years and won one of his first classes in the International Ring  with WCHR Champion Sandy Ferrell in the irons.  Sandy and Westley returned later in the circuit to take Reserve Champion Green Conformation Hunter, WEF 9.

A brief (and cold) reprieve at home in Chicago and Westley was clearly ready to show again (as evidenced by my attempt at pictures on a brisk Chicago morning, when I insist we go outside for natural lighting.  Westley was a doll, but clearly more interested in being the center of all attention). Westley got his wish and found himself on a trailer to Tennessee for the Brownland Farm Spring Series. He laid down winning trips to take Reserve Tricolors in the Green Conformation division both weeks, and was the Under Saddle winner week 2. I'm hoping for new pictures soon but be sure to check his page for video of his winning round at WEF.

As You Wish"As You Wish" is offered for sale by Connie Stevens & Matchmaker, LTD. He can be seen  at the Kentucky Spring series in May, or at Connie's barn just outside of Chicago with easy access from O'hare airport.  Click here for more information and videos.

"Lucky Jack" has solid showing in
First Year Greens at Aiken Spring
This truly "handy" hunter recently had a great showing at Aiken with successful pro Harold Chopping in the irons. "Lucky Jack" (Jack) showed awesome consistency in the First Year Greens placing Top 4 in all classes over fences: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 3rd in the Handy Hunter round.  With 11 nice entries the duo were just out of the Tricolor standings.  Harold also piloted Jack to an impressive 2nd Place ribbon of 35 entries in the competitive Open Hunter class.

Lucky JackJack has a very impressive jump and an equally awesome brain. Imported in 2007 and with limited (but again, impressive) Pregreen miles in 2008 he has moved up to the 3'6" with incredible ease and consistency. He was also a consistent top ribbon earner in Ocala in the First Years and with a catch-rider in the Large Junior Hunters this winter.

"Lucky Jack" and equally reliable barn-mate "Henk" are offered for sale by Solo Show Stables and Harold Chopping, located in North Carolina.  Click here for more information and videos.

What a pleasure these horses are!
More & more I find myself struggling to keep up with the show results our horses are netting. At the beginning of each week I scour the web for results, tracking the placings of over two dozen horses. Emails and text messages arrive, "We just won the Handy round!" and such. Notes are jotted here and there and by Wednesday I sit amidst a mound of post-its, trying to remember what I've tweeted and who I've submitted and where I've posted and when I did it . . .?

The product of this Wednesday's craziness is a nifty new chart with the horse's name, show, and results, plus various checkboxes that cover all the cross-promotion we do (RSS, Email Blast, Print Submission, Twitter, Facebook and posting on various forums). Within moments of printing the neat black lines of the chart are askew with my blue ink, noting ribbons from California to New York, highlighting handy and hack wins. Sigh. Oh well, at least it's all in one place now.

The point is it's fun. It's fun to believe in what you promote, and it's a blast to promote what you love. Week after week Sellers send show updates that are right in line with what they have advertised their horses to be: true competitors. That alone is enough to ask, but the sheer number of times the word "Tricolors" flies through this office is outstanding. Nothing sells better than documented success, and it makes my job so much easier.

In addition to our Newsletters be sure to check out the other various ways you can stay updated on our horses via the links to the left: Our RSS feed, Twitter updates and Facebook page. The RSS Feed is my personal favorite and perfect for those that aren't all aflitter about Twitter and the rest of the pop networking craze ;).

See you on the Circuit!
