A Very Special Framing Project
A Rhonda Feinman Closed Corner Period Frame &
A French Mat with a gold painted bevel.
|
Finished corner gold wood frame with French lines and wash with a hand painted gold beveled mat.
|
When one of our customers brought in this antique botanical illustration, we knew that it deserved a special frame. Together we chose a frame from Rhona Feinman in New York. Rhonda's atelier created this classic, but delicate Louis XVI gold leafed frame. We matted this botanical in an 8 ply cream rag mat with French Lines and a delicate wash and topped it off with a hand-applied gold bevel. We used Museum Glass to complete and protect the project.

Protect Your Art from UV Light
Use Preservation Quality Conservation Clear Glass, Museum Glass, & Optium Acrylic Products
 | "Anticipation", Hand-Colored Etching
by Stephen Ball Don't Let Your Art Fade Away |
Art can fade for a variety of reasons, but the main cause is UV radiation and visible light. Over the years we have seen hundreds of pieces of art that have faded because they did not have the benefit of UV protective glazing.
Conservation scientists recommend the use of UV protective glass or acrylic for framed items. We use Tru-Vue products that afford 99% UV protection.
Never hang your art in the path of direct sunlight and use UV protective glazing to help retard the fading of your art.

Why we are not promoting the Bay Area A-List Frame Shop Contest
Although we have won the Bay-List contest in several recent years, we are choosing not to promote voting this year because the new sponsors of the contest are soliciting small businesses to participate by offering them a program that allows them to reward votes with discount coupon offers.
We are uncomfortable with this practice because in a contest setting it unfairly impacts businesses that don't agree to post a discount in return for votes. Therefore are choosing not to participate. We very much appreciate your votes and reviews and suggest that you may want to review us on other online sites such as Yelp.
Thank you for your understanding.
