Greetings!
We could not believe our overwhelming luck during our recent spring clean up. We found three Laura Wilder The Quilter handmade block prints. These have been out of print for several years and we are now pleased to offer these three for sale in frames as shown. Find an enlargement and details here. |
Photography by Lee Jester

| Lee Jester, View From Mount Tam |
Some of you may know Lee Jester as the owner of The Craftsman Home, the Bay Area's premier Arts and Crafts store, but Lee is also a marvelous photographer. We fell in love with his landscape photography that reminds us so strongly of "Plein Aire" painters of the past. We are currently featuring Lee's photography on our front wall. Primarily a landscape photographer Lee's work is heavily influenced by the early 20th century California landscape painters and photographers including Arthur and Lucia Mathews, Arthur Wesley Dow, Maynard Dixon, Ansel Adams and Edward Weston. Find an enlargement of this and more of Lee's work here. Visit Lee Jester's Flickr site. |

Digital Restoration - Photo Stuck to Glass
Occasionally we like to share interesting restoration work. The above portrait photo was not originally matted to create an airspace between the photo and the glass. Consequently over time moisture behind the glass caused the photograph to adhere to the glass surface. There was no way to remove the photograph from the glass without damaging the photograph even further. We scanned the photograph with the broken glass in place (left), then rescanned the photograph without the glass for a sharper view of the intact parts of the photo (middle), so that it could be completety restored using the two scanned images as a guide (right). See an enlargement on our Restoration page.
