Frida Kahlo at SFMOMA
Freida KahloJeff and I just saw the excellent Frida Kahlo exhibit at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. We highly recommend this retrospective. If you don't have tickets, and would like them, here is the link to the exhibit information.

You may purchase tickets here.

The exhibit commemorates the centennial of Kahlo's birth and displays a large selection of the artist's paintings which span her career, as well as an exhibition of her photographic collection.

We have Kahlo prints on order from our gallery source in Mexico. Many of these prints are unavailabe elsewhere. Look for them at the shop soon!

Framers Supporting Framers: TV News Spot
Independent Frame Shops form a tightly-knit group
First aid for framers We'd like to end this newsletter with a  story that's close to our hearts. Many picture framers traditionally meet at conventions and educational events to swap ideas and learn together. But some of us do more, meeting online on a regular basis to extend our knowlege, share ideas, and give support when necessary.

Recently Valorie Morgan of Heart and Home Custom Framing in Carson City, Nevada, needed all the help she could get. After suffering a devastating illness with a long recovery, she had to close her one-person shop for four months and was facing the overwhelming task of filling over 100 orders and trying to manage her bills.

Word spread that one of our framing group was in trouble, and the nationwide, and indeed, worldwide response was remarkable. Pictured with Val are Rob Markoff owner of Artrageous in San Diego, and Baer Charlton, owner of Charlton Productions in Portland. The next week Ellen Collins, owner of Howards in Maryland, arrived to frame. In the coming weeks more framers are scheduled to fly or drive in to help.
Framers sent checks, cards, gifts, and amazingly, themselves.

Not only do we love what we do for a living, our lives are also enriched by the framing community.
