New Reading Garden Coming This Summer
Construction will soon begin on the outdoor reading garden to be located near the library's rear entrance and parking lot.  Thanks to a generous donation from Don & Bobbie Krueger, and the Friends of the Delafield Public Library, the reading garden will feature hardscaped pathways, benches, trees, flowers, low lighting, and a stage with pergola for community events.  Work should be completed for this exciting addition by July.
Christine's Staff Pick:
Hester:  The Missing Years of 'The Scarlet Letter'
chris cramer hester book cover
For all of you that enjoy historical fiction and a good page turner, this book will transport you back to Puritan England to spend more time with Nathaniel Hawthorne's heroine, Hester Pyrne.  Why does Hester and her daughter move to England?  Does Hester bring her unique talent to see into the souls of sinners?  Are there political intrigues, happiness and romance waiting for Hester? This book by Paula Reed is a must read. You may even want to check out The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne while you're at it!

Back by popular demand, the DPL invites all stuffed animals to join with your special young owners for a story and a snack. Then, the

animals are invited to stay overnight in the library and the fun (and possible mischief) begins.  Young owners can return the following morning to collect their special friend and participate in a sleepover related craft.
