Family Scanning Experience
New at Annerley From January 2012
Have your family 'meet' the new baby at our new Family Scanning Experience which will be available from January 2012. In the 30-minute session, brothers, sisters, the father and other family members you may wish to invite can have the pleasure of seeing the new addition to the family in amazing 4D ultrasound. This is hugely popular in other countries and we are delighted to be able to bring this family ultrasound experience to Hong Kong's families.
At the end of the session you will get a video of the complete ultrasound with background music of your choice, and all the recorded photos on a CD. We will also give you a folder containing a selected 12 color prints of your baby.
First session 1400 HKD. Book now and receive 10% discount.
This ultrasound experience is not a medical diagnostic scan and does not replace 12 or 20 week ultrasound. The Family Scanning Experience is therefore available any time after a diagnostic scan has been performed. The scan is performed by a registered midwife.

Coping with Crying
Hulda advises on how to understand a crying baby The only way for a newborn to express him/herself is through a cry, and crying is therefore considered normal. However, there is usually a reason the newborn's cries; baby is telling us that something is wrong: hunger, tiredness, wet diaper, cold, pain -- or more commonly, that he/she just wants you to be there. Different types of cry Parents quickly learn to know different types of cry. The cry because of hunger somehow sounds different from the cry from a baby that wants attention. Some babies cry more than others, and some stop immediately when you either pick them up or feed them, while others will always take time to recover. What should you do? Even though your baby may not stop crying immediately when cuddled, your baby can still feel the security of your presence, and often this is what they are really longing for, just as kittens do when they cuddle up with their mum in the early days. If the crying does not stop, you can try changing the nappy, or checking whether the baby is either too hot or cold. Of course hunger is also often the reason for crying, and you must ensure that the baby is well fed. If you have difficulties knowing whether the baby has had enough, contact the midwife or lactation consultant to help you out. This is a shortened version of a longer article.
