Friday Report

Greetings!

Last week's B.C. Supreme Court ruling striking down the country's euthanasia law demands that we respond as Catholics.

Please contact federal Justice Minister Rob Nicholson and your Member of Parliament, urging that the decision be appealed.

Here are some talking points for your letter, and here's how to reach the Justice Minister or your MP.

To reach Archbishop Miller's response to the decision, please visit this page.

Sincerely,

Paul Schratz
Director, Communications Office

The Nativity of Saint John the Baptist
Solemnity
Sunday, Jun. 24

The birth of Saint John was foretold by an angel of the Lord to his father, Zachary, who was offering incense in the Temple. It was the office of Saint John to prepare the way for Christ, and before he was born into the world he began to live for the Incarnate God. Even in the womb he knew the presence of Jesus and of Mary, and he leaped with joy at the glad coming of the son of man. more
Archbishop Miller on Friday's euthanasia ruling

"True liberty means the freedom to live one's life secure in the knowledge that those who
care for us are dedicated to the service of life, not the taking of life."

Share your speakers

Is your parish bringing in a speaker for a conference or other event? Why not share him or her with neighbouring parishes, schools or organizations? Just inform the Archdiocesan Communications Office, and we can help you set up additional engagements. It can reduce the expense of booking your speaker, draw more press coverage, and give more people the opportunity to hear your speaker when there is more than one venue. Click here to contact us.
