ANNUAL ENROLLMENT BEGINS TODAY
Annual Enrollment begins today and runs through March 30, 2012.
Employees do NOT need to do anything during Annual Enrollment if they are satisfied with the plan in which they are currently enrolled. If they take no action, they will remain on their current plan, along with any covered dependents. Any plan changes made during Annual Enrollment will become effective July 1, 2012.
Effective July 1, 2012, there has been a 5.3% premium rate increase. There has been no change to copays, deductibles and coinsurance maximums. For detailed rate information, visit the State Health Plan website.
Changes in health benefits will need to be done either through eBenefitsNow or BEACON. Paper applications are no longer accepted. If employees have additional questions about Annual Enrollment or their benefits, please direct them to the State Health Plan website or to call Customer Service at 888-234-2416. Customer Service hours have been extended from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout Annual Enrollment, March 19-30, 2012.
EBenefitsNow Agencies: For instructions and to find your agency's unique URL visit the State Health Plan website at www.shpnc.org and click on Annual Enrollment. For assistance in navigating eBenefitsNow call Customer Service at 855-859-0966. Customer Service hours have been extended from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout Annual Enrollment, March 19-30, 2012.
Employees' login IDs and passwords have not been reset for this Annual Enrollment. If an employee has forgotten their login ID and/or password, they can select the Can't Access Your Account link to retrieve their login information or reset their password.

BEACON Agencies
If you wish to make changes in your health benefits you will need to do so through BEACON's Employee Self Service (ESS), which is available on the BEACON website at https://mybeacon.nc.gov.
Select the "My Benefits" link to begin your enrollment. For instructions to guide you through the electronic enrollment process, click on the "Read Before Beginning Online Enrollment" link. Employees without ESS access may contact BEST Shared Services at 919-707-0707 (in Raleigh) or 866-622-3784 (statewide) to complete their enrollment by phone. REMINDER: IS YOUR INFORMATION UP TO DATE? Annual Enrollment is a good time for your employees to update their contact information, regardless of whether they make any changes to their health plan coverage. It's important for employees to keep contact information current to ensure they receive the latest State Health Plan benefits and NC HealthSmart resources available to them and their family.
State agency employees can simply log in to their BEACON account and change any contact information in "My Data." Questions? Call BEACON at 866-622-3784. If workers are employed at a school, community college or university, they should update their information through their health benefit representative (HBR) at work. If they are retired, they can update their contact information in their ORBIT account.
Any updates will automatically be changed in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) system. Revising contact information will not result in employees receiving a new ID card. If they would like a new card, they should contact BCBSNC at 888-234-2416. Please share this information with your employees. |
