More Flexibility Offered for eBenefits Mass Approval
In order to offer you greater flexibility in the management of the eBenefitsNow system, please note that HBRs now have the ability to perform mass approvals and mass refusals of benefits in the HR role of eBenefitsNow. This will be especially beneficial during Annual Enrollment. You will now see new buttons on your Task List below the "Approval" and "Benefits Not Started" tasks, as shown below. When you select these buttons, you will then be given the option to select the members that you wish to mass approve or refuse as shown in the second screenshot below.

New Employee Enrollment Kits Available
The New Employee Enrollment Information kit for the 2011/2012 benefit year is now available online. This kit can be utilized by BEACON, eBenefitsNow and Paper agencies. Click here to download and print copies as needed. You may also order hard copies by using the Warehouse Requisition Form, which is available on the State Health Plan website.
Please note that the Enrollment Application is no longer included in the kit or available for ordering separately. If you are an agency that still enrolls by paper, you will need to print an Enrollment Application and provide to your employees.

Flu Shot Clinics Help Your Employees - and You!
Why should you schedule a worksite flu shot clinic? For one thing, they promote prevention and wellness! People can develop flu symptoms five to six days before they know they are sick. The end result could be missing anywhere from one to five days of work. Vaccination is the best way to avoid getting the flu. A person who has been vaccinated develops protective antibodies to fight against the flu, but those antibodies wane after one year. So employees who received the flu shot last year may be due for another.

As a self-funded employee benefit plan, the State Health Plan (Plan) has a responsibility to its members to protect Plan funds by paying only those claims for which it is responsible. If the Plan pays claims that are the responsibility of a third party, then, by law, the Plan has a right to recover those payments. That right to recover includes recovery of payment for claims paid on behalf of members injured in an automobile accident, by a defective product, as a result of a slip or fall, medical malpractice or any other injury caused by a liable third party.
