Who Should I Contact?

The State Health Plan has updated the Health Benefits Representative list of contacts for issues and questions relating to eligibility, benefits, login, navigational questions or other issues. Please refer to this complete list as a quick reference for your convenience. Remember, you will get faster resolution by utilizing the direct contacts for all of your service needs.

Remittance Statements for Benefit Focus and Paper Groups

If your agency has former employees that were part of a Reduction In Force (RIF), remember that they fall into a separate group and have a separate remittance. Do not include your remittance for active employees with your RIF group. Send these payments in as two separate remittances.

More Flexibility Offered for eBenefits Mass Approval

In order to offer you greater flexibility in the management of the eBenefitsNow system, please note that HBRs now have the ability to perform mass approvals and mass refusals of benefits in the HR role of eBenefitsNow. This will be especially beneficial during Annual Enrollment. You will now see new buttons on your Task List below the "Approval" and "Benefits Not Started" tasks, as shown below. When you select these buttons, you will then be given the option to select the members that you wish to mass approve or refuse as shown in the second screenshot below.

Flu Shot Clinics Help Your Employees - and You!

picture of person getting a flu shotWhy should you schedule a worksite flu shot clinic? For one thing, they promote prevention and wellness! People can develop flu symptoms five to six days before they know they are sick. The end result could be missing anywhere from one to five days of work. Vaccination is the best way to avoid getting the flu. A person who has been vaccinated develops protective antibodies to fight against the flu, but those antibodies wane after one year. So employees who received the flu shot last year may be due for another.

As a self-funded employee benefit plan, the State Health Plan (Plan) has a responsibility to its members to protect Plan funds by paying only those claims for which it is responsible. If the Plan pays claims that are the responsibility of a third party, then, by law, the Plan has a right to recover those payments. That right to recover includes recovery of payment for claims paid on behalf of members injured in an automobile accident, by a defective product, as a result of a slip or fall, medical malpractice or any other injury caused by a liable third party.
