A National Recreation Area Could Morph in to National Park
There are few things more uplifting to the human spirit, then walking along the beach and watching dogs joyously romp in the water, fetch balls, and chase with each other. Yet all that is about to change if the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) morphs in to the Golden Gate National Park, under a proposal called the Draft General Management Plan (DGMP), DGMP is the intended roadmap for all uses of this National Parks property for the next 20 years. The differences between a recreation area and a park are significant. Recreation areas preserve the land for public enjoyment, parks severely restrict human access.....

Suggested comments :
1. The agreement that established the GGNRA mandates the land be open to recreation and should be honored as agreed to by the citizens of the Bay Area.
2. The DGMP is unlawful. Changes proposed cannot legally be made by regulation, they must be made by legislation.
3. Due to ongoing violations of the agreement, the people of the San Francisco Bay Area demand return of the property to local control.
