Speech and Language Skills

Speech and Language....What's the Difference?

  Here is what you need to know...

 

 

Language

 Language is any means of understanding

 and conveying a message.

 

 Receptive language

involves understanding or decoding a message.

Expressive Language

is the expression of language or encoding a message

Pragmatic Language

has to do with social skills and abilities.

 

Speech

Speech involves verbal output.

 

Articulation

is actual sound production, how speech sounds are made.

Voice

when we use our vocal folds and air to produce sound.

Fluency

is the rhythm of speech. Stuttering can affect a person's fluency.

We are VERY excited to announce that will offering  several new Make n' Take Workshops!

 

Each conference will have a different theme!

 Our next Make n' Take Workshop is called

 

Making Books Come Alive!

A Literacy Based Make n' Take Workshop

 

Participants will learn about and then create teaching aids to help engage children in literacy based activities.

 

 Each participant will create FIVE fun filled learning activities based off of well know children's books.

 

We supply the materials, you create projects and take them home to use the very next day!
