Greetings!

Hope all's well.  As you may know, UTEC is renovating our existing facility (built in 1839) and building a brand new 7,500 sq ft addition!  We invite you to join us for a significant moment in the construction of the new building: the topping-off of the steel structure (celebrating the last piece of steel's being erected)! This new building will be a beacon for GREEN construction and sustainability throughout the Merrimack Valley. We are aiming to be the first LEED Platinum certified building in Lowell and the oldest LEED Platinum certified building in the country! Please consider contributing as a sponsor for this event or a donor to the Green Building project to help us achieve our final fundraising goal of raising $190,000 by November 15th.

The Steel Topping Off Ceremony will be held Tuesday, September 20th at 12pm at 34 Hurd Street.  We will be joined by Governor Deval Patrick and other local and state dignitaries.  Please join us in celebrating this pivotal moment in UTEC history!

All details around sponsorship opportunities for the Steel Topping Off Ceremony can be found in the Topping Off Ceremony Sponsorship Form.

More info on our overall  building campaign can be found on the Green Building fact sheet or on our website.

What the New Building Means

New Building

The completed building will double UTEC's capacity to help the highest-risk youth of Lowell. The new addition will have dedicated classrooms, multimedia labs, and a youth-run caf! The commercial kitchen and caf will create permanent jobs and allow for the expansion of our culinary arts program. The classrooms will double the number of available spots in our workforce and education programming. The conference center and rental space will help UTEC further serve the needs of our community.

UTEC has been expanding since we were founded by teens in 1999, and now we will have a home that grows with us. Contributions and donations help to purchase computers for the alternative education programs, A/V studio equipment, dance studio supplies, caf furnishings, kitchen appliances, and other final finishes for the interior of the building.

Most importantly, a donation from you will help us achieve our ultimate mission of trading violence and poverty for social and economic success for all the youth we serve.
