Thank you all for your support for the public hearing held on June 14th regarding the campaign of our statewide youth coalition, Teens Leading The Way, to strenghten civics in our Commonwealth. With a packed hearing room, the teens along with various organizational partners presented a compelling case to pass Bill #S00183.
Most recently, our coalition was thrilled to see that the Boston Globe published an editorial in this past Sunday's edition which endorses our teens, their campaign, and Bill #S00183! Thanks again to the Editorial Board for meeting with our teens and their critical support.
We look forward to working with the state's education leaders, officials, and legislators to best translate the goals of the teens' campaign: increasing civic knowledge and civic action throughout the state. After last Tuesday's success at the Joint Committee on Education's Public Hearing, the teens now need support to get the committee to vote favorably on Bill #S00183. You can help by:
1. Call or write to the two Chairs of the Joint Committee on Education asking them to move quickly and favorably on Bill #S00183:
Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz sonia.chang-diaz@masenate.gov 617-722-1673
Representative Alice Peisch alice.peisch@mahouse.gov 617-722-2070
2. Go online to the TLTW website and sign our online petition!
3. Share this opportunity with your network and other supporters!
Thanks again to our lead sponsor, Senator Harriette Chandler, and all other partners who have played key roles in moving this campaign forward.
