"Listening Session" on Pressing Health Needs

Adults and Teens Invited to Participate

Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 4pm, Town Hall

Concord Hospital and its community partners are hosting a 2012 Capital Region Health Needs Assessment Listening Session at the Henniker Town Hall at 18 Depot Hill Road on Tuesday, August 14 at 4PM.  This Listening Session will help the Needs Assessment workgroup learn what community members believe are the most pressing health needs for themselves and their neighbors.

Concord Hospital and its community partners have begun conducting the Health Needs Assessment to obtain feedback from adults and teens in Concord and in surrounding communities to help determine priority health needs for the region. The state of New Hampshire requires that healthcare charitable trusts conduct comprehensive community health needs assessments to identify priority health needs and further develop and report on programs and services to meet those needs.

Input and feedback from community members is an extremely important component of the Needs Assessment and the workgroup encourages participation in this community discussion in Henniker. Please join us to share your thoughts.

The Capital Region Health Needs Assessment will be completed by December 31, 2012 and the final results will be available in early January. For more information, call (603) 227-7000, ext. 5209.

Highway Dept. Building Envelope

The Town of Henniker is working to improve energy conservation performance of its primary municipal buildings as identified by a Level II energy audit conducted by the Jordan Institute in  2010-11. The American Recovery Reinvestment Act of 2009 and New Hampshire State Energy  Program Grant, Award Number DE-EE0000228 supported this study. This report is available at the Town website.

The performance of building envelopes were evaluated through the use of blower door testing and infrared imaging along with the review of available architectural/mechanical drawings and utility data for each building culminating in an energy plan providing recommendations on energy upgrades for each building.

The Highway Department building is located at 209 Ramsdell Road in Henniker. Built in 1972, the building is approximately 6,048 square feet of conditioned space on one floor. The building is comprised of two sections, an office section in a mobile home structure and a garage section. There is also an addition to the garage that includes a single garage bay with a shed roof. The

office space is approximately 1,344 square feet and the garage is approximately 4,704 square

feet.

The Town of Henniker acted upon a warrant article at its March,2012 Town Meeting to appropriate the funds to improve the physical envelope of the Town Garage and Highway Department office. This RFP will not replace, change or modify the HVAC systems currently in the Highway building(s).
