Profile: Town Brookhaven Urban Village
Atlanta, GA

Adjacent to historic Oglethorpe University, the design of the mixed-use development of Town Brookhaven included a stone facade to incorporate an old-world feel into the modern design, thus harmonizing with Oglethorpe's gothic architecture. The project faced tremendous financial pressures during the recession, tightening the budget. Cordova Stone™ offered an economical alternative for achieving the design goals by providing the aesthetic look of historical stone in a veneer rather than actual cut stone. Various sized units of Alabaster Cordova Stone in both Groundface and Chiselface were used as continuous wainscot at front facades, for window heads and sills, and as full height veneer walls at certain locations.

Town BrookhavenTown Brookhaven offers 48 acres of premier retail space with 20,000 sq. ft. of office space and 950 luxury residential units. It is touted as a state-of-the-art pedestrian-friendly urban village located in the heart of Atlanta's Brookhaven community.

The One
Upon completion of The ONE program, Northfield presented a check to architectural firm GreenburgFarrow of Arlington Heights, IL. The donation was made in their name to Children's Hospital of Chicago as part of a fundraising effort for their "Move for the Kids 5k Run/Walk." GreenburgFarrow developed a team for the race on behalf of an employee's daughter who suffers from congenital heart disease.

"The ONE" Program: Charitable AIA Lunch

Offered to architectural firms in the Northfield  service territory (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin), the Ongoing Northfield Education (ONE) program is a lunch and learn series that combines continuing education opportunities with community outreach. By signing up for three or more educational sessions, Northfield makes a charitable donation in the name of the firm to a local charity. Twelve different classes are available that cover a variety of topics in the areas of masonry, stone veneers, and hardscapes--including sustainable design, safety considerations, and design tactics.
