Bid to go picking with me for a day and support a good cause. My friend, singer Jo Dee Messina, is supporting a local charity auction in Nashville. This special auction will help fund the expansion of local school. Learn more about the auction here.
Featured Pick
Williams Spitfire Pinball
This 1954 Spitfire pinball machine is a classic. Made by Williams Manufacturing Company, the inventor of the ""tilt" mechanism out of Chicago Illinois, the western themed game features hot cowgirls and rapid fire action. It was played in pubs and working man taverns across America.
Hope your new year has gotten off to a great start. It's been a sweet start for us. Here's a quick run down:
The Picking Nation Grows The new episodes have been a big hit. Last week, a record 6.6 million folks tuned into HISTORY to watch the show. Thanks for spreading the good word.
American Pickers on on Letterman
A Late Night with Dave
Another highlight was appearing on the David Letterman Show with Frank. It turns out that Dave is a real fan of the show and wanted all the inside scoop. We also met Vince Vaughn who was on the show that night. And Paul and the band rocked some rusty classics. As I sat there I couldn't help but think how amazing it was to be on the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theatre, where the Beetles and Elvis performed. Now that's a piece of American history.
Pit Stop at Daytona After New York we hit the road and headed to Florida. Between picks we stopped by the Daytona International Speedway and said hello to Ryan Newman. Ryan appeared in an episode of Season Two. He showed us around and introduced us to several drivers like Tony Stewart. Everyone in the garage was coming up and giving us high fives. These guys love the shows about old cars, motorcycles or anything to do with a motor.
Kid Pickers
We've started work on a new project that I am really excited about. It's called KidPicker.com. The social website allows kids to show off their picks while learning a bit of history and how to re-purpose found items. I want to make it a teaching moment. Stay tuned.

My Love Of Motorcycles
I was 13 when I saw my first motorcycle. I was walking down the sidewalk when this guy who was like the high school champion stud-he was the team quarterback, got all the chicks, everything-did this incredible burnout on his Honda 900. I can remember the day so clearly, how warm it was, and him looking at me as I walked by. I thought, "Oh, man. That is the coolest thing in the world." That's what started me on my journey of wanting a motorcycle.
