President's Message |
My husband, a long term member of Strategic Coach, uses a tool called "Positive Focus" all the time. Positive focus starts every meeting or project by naming all the good things that have happened leading up to the present. There are many to mention for our Pittsburgh FPA.
What a tremendous sight to see additional chairs being brought into the room for the Estate Planning Conference. We had a full house. Moreover, many hung around afterwards to chat and share ideas. Our education director, Mike McGrath, hit a home run on this one! He's set the bar high for a follow-through with the Investment Conference in September.
We've had several inquiries from professionals interested in joining our chapter. The news is getting out about the benefits the FPA offers. In addition, various board members have been contacted to see if there are synergies between the FPA Pittsburgh and their respective organizations. Our local chapter is definitely a leader among the myriad of similar organizations in the community.
We are looking forward to a packed golf event on April 29th. For the record, I've ordered gorgeous weather for the day!
There is so much more to come in 2011 with the grand finale being the Financial Four'um. The planning is well underway. Registration for the Four'Um will be available soon.
The success of this organization would not be possible without the contributions and commitments of the board. Beyond the mission of getting things done, we have fun. We'd love to receive a note, or call, from you indicating interest in being part of the board or serving on a committee. I promise no one will bear the load alone. We are a team!
Sincerely,
Darla |
2011 Heart of Financial Planning Award |
|
How many times have you worked with someone in your local chapter or worked with allied professionals in the financial planning field and thought "WOW, Jane is not just doing her job; she has taken it to a higher level" or "John is not just serving his clients, but through his pro bono activities he is changing the lives of many"? There is something that you can do to turn those thoughts into action; nominate that person for the FPA Heart of Financial Planning Award. Read more...
Dowload a nomination form and submit a candidate today! (The deadline for nominee submissions is June 3rd.)
