Spring came in fast this year, especially considering what an awesome winter we had. There's plenty of snow left for those who want to hike for their turns, but many of us are getting out to run on the roads and lower trails. You may think of Foggy Mountain Shop as a cross country ski, hiking, climbing, and camping store, but did you also know we have a great selection of men's and women's running shoes and clothing? The theme is light and fast, but durable - kind of like the runner we all aspire to be!
Salomon Speedcross 3 CS
Stay fast, stay light, stay dry with a breathable, water-resistant upper that keeps moisture out while letting feet breathe at the same time, keeping feet dry and light. Aggressive lugs dig in deep for grip on softer ground while still offering good traction on tough surfaces. The cushioned midsole offers comfort through any distance, to keep you going from one trail to the next. The Salomon Speedcross was a big customer favorite last year, and we are pleased to offer it in women's as well as men's sizes this year.

Salomon FastWing III Jacket
Super light and super packable, this water and wind-resistant shell protects from the elements when needed, but packs away to almost nothing as you sprint along the mountain trails. It looks great on you, too! The women's colors coordinate with the sweet Trail 3/4 Tights. Running has never looked this good.
 
Patagonia Houdini Full-Zip Jacket
Now you see it, now you don't. Patagonia's ultralight HoudiniŽ Full-Zip Jacket blocks wind and sheds light rain, then disappears into your pack when skies clear. The hood snugs around your head and adjusts three-dimensionally with a single pull. The jacket stuffs into its own zippered chest pocket. Incredibly light textured soft shell, made of slightly transparent, highly breathable, strong triple-ripstop nylon. Nylon ripstop is treated with a DelugeŽ DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Can be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.
 
Of course, the perfect layer under all of these sleek running shells is a lightweight, short-sleeved or long-sleeved wool shirt from Ibex, Smartwool, or Patagonia!
