Welcome to September!
It's already mid-month and by now we are all knee deep in the changes associated with September. Finding the little joys in every day are sometimes the only way to help survive the onslaught of change that this month brings. With that in mind, I have tried to bring you a few small cups of salvation in the way of positive news regarding that black cup of Joe that starts you off and keeps you going every morning! Please click on 'Seinfeld Wisdom' below for a bit of coffee wisdom from Jerry Seinfeld. Hope it keeps you smiling along your September journey.
Sincerely,
Monique DeNault

Coffee Love... Starting each morning with that loving feeling.
If you ask me, I think that coffee has gotten a bad rap over the years due to it's caffeine content and the scare tactics of the media. Like all things in life, if used out of balance, anything can be perceived as "bad". Alternately, when used in balance, scientists are finding that good can actually come from consuming a regulated dose of coffee. Hoorah! Visit Ki-Stone this month, read Coffee Love and discover the latest and greatest health findings that scientists are attributing to consuming coffee in moderation. Enjoy the fact that your morning cuppa Joe is giving back a little more than simply clearing your morning fog. |
To Your Health... & your power to make informed coffee choices
Here are some things you may not know about coffee that may surprise you: 1. Espresso has 1/3 the caffeine that is in a regular cup of coffee. 2. The terms "Supremo" and "Excelso" do not refer to the quality of the bean, but rather the size of it. 3. Dark roasted coffees have less caffeine than medium roasts. Caffeine is actually burned off in the process of roasting. 4. The term Hard Bean refers to coffee grown at an altitude above 5000 feet. 5. Black coffee contains around 5 calories a cup. With some specialty coffees running around 300-500 calories per cup, do you know what you are drinking?
