Judy Citko New Board President of the Culture Change Coalition
CCCC's Executive Director Judy Citko has been elected to serve as Board President for the California Culture Change Coalition. The Culture Change Coalition seeks to transform nursing homes into great places to live and work.
Community-Based Palliative Care
With support from the California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF), CCCC is working to develop recommendations to promote wider implementation of community-based palliative care services. The first step is a review and analysis of the current state of community-based palliative care.
New Resources in the Works
CCCC is currently developing brochures on hydration and ventilation to help patients make informed treatment decisions and to complement our popular CPR/DNR and Tube Feeding brochures. As part of the project, we will also develop resources to help parents of seriously-ill children make decisions about medical care. We'll keep you posted as the project moves forward.
Snapshot of Death & Dying - 2012
CCCC and CHCF are working together to update the 2006 Snapshot of Death & Dying in California. The new report, to be released at the CCCC annual conference, will include the results of a survey of over 1,600 Californians' views on issues related to end-of-life and palliative care.
