Sharp HospiceCare in San Diego has received a Circle of Life Citation of Honor.  This nationally competitive award recognizes innovative care programs in palliative and end-of-life care.

This film by Nancy Poer is a full length documentary on conscious dying at home with caring community support. Hastings Center Cunniff-Dixon Physician Awards
Nominations are being accepted for the Hastings Center Cunniff-Dixon Physician Awards, which recognizes physicians who provide exemplary patient care and model end-of-life care as a basic part of the doctor-patient relationship. Deadline for nominations is September 30.
 
ELNEC Expands to Improve Care at U.S. Veterans Hospitals
The Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded the City of Hope a three-year contract to educate nurses on how to provide better palliative care for veterans with life-threatening illnesses. This work will be conducted through the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC), which will enroll 600 nurse educators in national "train-the-trainer" courses.
