News from DC Access

December 2011

Greetings!

Thank you for another great year!

This time last year we were celebrating the addition of two new brands in the DC Access family: Hill Ads, an online advertising network that lets local businesses target local customers, and Free TV DC, offering you more than 20 broadcast HDTV channels without the hassle and cost of cable.

This year we:
- completed an upgrade of our WiFi antennas on Capitol Hill, now offering our customers the option to upgrade to speeds up to 50% faster for only $5 more per month.  (Wondering now if Matt wishes we could have finished installing the new antennas BEFORE the hot, rainy August!)

- had our best month ever for growth, adding 96 new customers this summer

- hired our first employee, Juan Pablo, to help with installations and network maintenance.

- tackled one of our largest projects this year at the Hill Center, wiring the entire building to make this newly renovated historic structure fully capable of delivering 21st century digital technology.

For next year, we're working on some behind-the-scenes changes.  As we grow, we know its critical to keep listening and being responsive to our customers.  That's why we're looking at ways to improve our own back office operations, based on the feedback from those of you who took our recent survey.  So while you may not see Matt going from roof to roof with new equipment next year like he was last summer, you may notice changes in service and communications that will come from upgrades we're making internally.

Thank you for your continued loyalty and for recommending us to your friends and neighbors!

We look forward to a full and exciting 2012,
and we wish you health and happiness in the new year!
New BW M&M
Sincerely,

Martha & Matt

In case you missed it, DC Access was featured online in PC World this month: "When Your ISP is One of Your Neighbors"

Remember turning on the TV Christmas Day and finding the screen filled with a roaring fire?  Now, of course, you can go to YouTube for the modern version of this tradition.  There are plenty of options, but we liked this one because its an hour long and in HD, plus they add that extra touch of "reality" by throwing a log on the fire partway through.

You can also get this alternative version (complete with sound) as a screensaver from the clever filmmakers at PES.
