President's Message
(Stan's message was obviously written before the debt ceiling vote - a vote that was more about saving political hide than fiscal hide. The points raised in his message are as valid after the vote as they were before the vote)
The only way we can save our country from financial disaster is to immediately cut spending and not raise the debt limit. When "they" talk about saving a couple of trillion over the next ten years, that will only make the death of our country slower. If we, as Patriots, are really serious about saving our country we must all be willing to sacrifice. Yes, I need my social security and medicare. But, I know that if I don't sacrifice some today, there will be nothing for my kids and grandkids tomorrow.
We have a President who has been lying to us about no Social Security payments, no Medicare payments, no checks for the military and no safety net. He is fear mongering because he doesn't have a plan. For over 800 days he has violated the Constitution and refused to send a budget to Congress. He blames everyone for the problems but does nothing to help solve them. Yes, I called our President a liar! I have never done that before but that's exactly what he has been doing for over 2 ½ years.
Our President thinks you are too stupid to recognize his socialist agenda. Patriots have been watching as his big government agenda has moved into all phases of our lives, killing job growth (except in DC), taking over our banking and health care systems, destroying the housing market, and taking the misery index to new highs. He says he wants to compromise but has refused to put any ideas on the table. His meetings with the political leadership are behind closed doors (So much for transparency). He has appointed czars to make decisions that should be made by Congress, and Congress does nothing about it.
The Liberals have become the party of "NO". No, we won't put out a budget plan. No, we won't accept any of your ideas. No, we don't want a balanced budget amendment. No, we won't stop fear mongering. No, we won't stop our class warfare propaganda. And, no, we won't put out any new ideas.
Here are some simple questions: Are we better off than we were when this President took office? How many military lives has he saved? Is the world safer today? Has unemployment come down? Are we financially and militarily more secure? Have we moved to become more energy independent? Are small businesses thriving or are they being over-regulated to death? Is our education system failing students and parents? Are your taxes going up? Is inflation cutting into your personal budget? I'm sure you could add to this list.
The liberals only have one answer to all problems: SPEND MORE and BLAME EVERYONE ELSE BUT THEMSELVES FOR THE PROBLEMS.
As Patriots, we know what is going on because we truly care about our country. We understand the slogans that both sides put out to try to confuse us. We keep ourselves well-informed on issues that affect our everyday lives. We know that the Constitution and Bill of Rights contain many of the answers to our current problems.
You and I have spent a lot of time together since February 2009 when this all started. It certainly hasn't been easy for any of us that care about our community and our country. We have had some great rallies and events where the general public showed their appreciation for what we are trying to do. We have also had our frustrations with non-responsive representation at all levels of government. We were thrilled on November 2, 2010 when we forced the biggest change in Congress since 1938. But, even on that day, we knew that the fight had just begun. Even with that big win, we knew that the establishment would fight us even harder than they had because we had proven that we are a force that was not going to give up after one victory.
We are in a war for the survival of our country. That is not an exaggeration! We have seen what the last few decades have wrought upon us. It has crept up on us while we have been watching TV and just trying to survive. This is not a war about bullets; it's a war of ideas. The enemies of freedom have been working on this for a very long time while we weren't paying attention.
I can only speak for myself and my family when I tell you that we pledge to you that we are in this fight until the last breath we take. We have no other choice. Do you?
