Greetings!

April promises to be another busy month for all Tea Party Patriots, between the budget discussions in Washington and in Sacramento.  We appreciate your tolerance for all the "Action Items" we've been sending you lately, and we also recognized that without your active involvement and support, the Tea Party Patriots would not be to the important "grass roots" organization that it is.  We hope to see you are one of our lunch meetings, and starting this month, our evening meetings as well.

President's Message
by Stan Meckler

Do you know who wrote the following quotes?

"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government."  Sounds like what's going on right now, doesn't it?

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those willing to work and give to those who won't."  Isn't that happening right now?

Those quotes sound like they were written today.  In fact, they were written by Thomas Jefferson, who wrote the Declaration of Independence, and was our third President.

What has happened to our country?   The government has increased in size over the last few years from 1 million employees to over 2 million now.  Spending has exploded under this administration and the last one.  We now have a debt that is destroying our country.  The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says that our country will financially collapse within a couple of years if drastic cuts are not made now.

Why is it happening?  Is it because we have become complacent, unwilling to get off the couch,  not willing to leave our place of comfort and expect someone else to do what we all know should be done?  You and I keep voting the same people into office over and over again and expect different results.  We keep believing what they say and forget to watch what they do.

I was that way until February 27, 2009 when I went to my first Tea Party.  There were 150 of us there.  Like me, none of those people had ever been politically active or protested anything.  We were whiners and complainers who did absolutely nothing to change the status quo. We were just Americans that were tired of complaining but wanted to do something, anything, to get our country back.  So, we went to our first protest and that changed everything.

Now look back to November 2, 2010 and the impact that we made.  It was the largest turnaround of the Congress since 1938.  We the people did that.  We elected people that said that they thought like we do.  I was in Washington, DC on that day and I will never forget the feeling of hope that we had elected Conservative people into office. I felt that maybe, just maybe, my grandchildren would have the same opportunities that I had.   I'll bet that you felt the same.

Do you still feel the same?  Are these newly elected officials living up to the commitments they made to us?   Are you satisfied with their work on behalf of the American people?  I'm not?

They promised to cut the budget by $100 billion dollars.  That number amounts to a fraction over 2cents for every dollar spent.  Now the Republicans are talking about a cut of $61 billion dollars. In the news today the Senate is discussing a $31 billion spending cut.  Where are the people we elected? Why aren't they screaming about this nonsense?  Where is their backbone?  This is not what they promised us they were going to do.

Why won't the Democrats propose any budget?  Why didn't they propose a budget when they were in control of the House, the Senate and the White House in 2009?  Harry Reid, Chuck Shumer and others call the Tea Party backers extremist for proposing a $61 billion dollar cut but still have done absolutely nothing to attack our burdensome debt.  At least the Tea Party backers are proposing cuts while the Democrats keep spending.  Where is the Senate's plan?  Isn't it extreme to propose nothing and attack those who at least put something on the table?

Now is the time for you to get involved with the 35 million Tea Party Patriots around the country.  You are needed to help save our country before we become another Greece.  Without your help that's exactly what will happen.

April Meetings
New Evening Meeting Added

The next NCTPP luncheon meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 13, at The Miner's Foundry Cultural Center in Nevada City.  We will have plenty of room to spread out inside, but parking has been a problem, so please try to car pool if you can.

Our featured speaker will be Chuck Whitten from KNCO radio.  Chuck has had an extensive career in the media and will be able to bring his views to the discussion.  As always, get there early for a good seat.  The doors open at 11:30 with lunch serving at noon.

The Miner's Foundry is located 325 Spring Street in Nevada City, next to the winery.  The meeting is open to everyone. A donation of $5 is requested to cover cost of the lunch.

A reminder: Please be sure to enter through the side door marked "Entrance" (facing the winery) and not through the kitchen door at the rear.  (It's crowded enough with our kitchen volunteers trying to set up lunch.)

First Evening Meeting:  Wednesday, April 27
Nevada County Horsemen's Club, 6:30 p.m.
Featured Speaker:  Tea Party Patriots Co-founder Mark Meckler
Horsemen's Club, 10600 Bubbling Wells Road, (off Brunswick) in Grass Valley.

Become A CA Legislative Action Volunteer
from CaliforniaTeaPartyGroups.org

After the November elections, many in California  thought little had changed and that California was sunk for good. Well we are here to tell you that this isn't the case. First of all we got rid of the 7 Republicans who voted to raise our taxes back in May of 2009. This was huge and we sent a message to those that consider themselves conservatives.

Second, the Tea Party  and 9/12 groups in California jumped right back into the  thick of things after the elections. We now have a new state website and 13 Committees that are working on the issues that face all of us in California.  We have put these Committees together with the help of our organizers throughout  the state. They will spearhead the Committees and we hope you will visit the site and find an issue that you are passionate about and help us take back the Golden State.

Go to our site, www.californiateapartygroups.org, sign up and then join the Committee or Committees that best address your concerns.  The Committee heads will get in contact with you so you can be part of the team to help decide how we deal with the current legislation in our state. We will be researching the legislation and using our resources throughout the state to directly advocate for our position on these Bills in Sacramento.

Please join us today to fight to win back California!

Who is the TeaParty.net?
Don't be fooled!
Many of you have inquired to ask us about JoinTheTeaParty.us and The TeaParty.net

There is apparently confusion between Tea Party Patriots and their organization and we are getting regular e-mails asking us if Tea Party Patriots is operating as TeaParty.net or JoinTheTeaParty.us.

Numerous organizers have complained to us that their information is listed on those sites and that they cannot get it taken off despite repeated requests.  Many of you have asked us if this organization is selling the data or allow advertiser to market to the data they collect.  It now appears from the information that we have received that they are offering their list to advertisers through NewsMax.

It seems that these websites are collecting data and donations from tea party supporters across the nation and using the money they collect from donors to allow them to market more and collect more data which they make available to advertisers through NewsMax.

Here is an investigative journalism piece done by a local station in Arizona where this organization is headquartered:

We are not aware of any other organization in the tea party movement that does this, and TPP has flatly rejected every offer to rent, borrow or use Tea Party Patriots' email list.  We will continue to do so.

We are not trying to tell you whether or not your name should be on those lists, or whether or not you should donate to this organization.  But based on all the questions you have asked us about these sites we felt it was important that we first and foremost our duty to provide you with the information to make your decision.
