Coming Events
Greetings!

What an interesting time we live in . . .

Just a short few month ago, we could never have dreamed of the success that the Tea Party movement is having around the country. Election after election has been proving the influence that the Tea Party Patriots have. The Tea Party Patriots now have 20 million members and almost 3,000 chapters, like here in Nevada County.

We realize that if we don't get involved, we can't expect to get back to the principles of our Founding Fathers and the Constitution. Now we know that anything is possible if we roll up our sleeves and get to work. It doesn't just happen.

I recently sent out a request for volunteers and the response was nothing less than great. To each of you that said, "Yes, I want to help", Elaine and I thank you. This is what makes us proud. By joining and volunteering you have become a leader in the movement, and you should be proud of yourself.

We did miss one committee on our wish list. We need a Meeting Committee, people who will help us plan and execute our lunches and general meetings. Please let us know if you would be interested and available to help.

We have decided that we will soon have a meeting of the volunteers so we can move ahead with the many projects we have had on the on the backburner.

When somebody asks, "What has the Tea Party done?" all you have to do is point to the recent elections. That's what we have done! This is just the beginning of a massive tidal wave that will cross the country. It's about getting back to the Constitution and Bill of Rights. It's about restoring our Freedoms and making our representatives listen to us, their employers.

The November elections are just the beginning. The real work begins on November 3rd when we hold the newly elected to their promises. Your voices have made a difference. Keep speaking loud and clear with emails, phone calls and letters. Yes, they work.

Congressman Tom McClintock told me that in Washington, DC, Sacramento, and Nevada County that politicians don't understand what we want. Tell them! We want fiscal responsibility, limited government, free markets, respect for the Constitution and Bill of rights and a government that answers to the people. Tell them!

We are going to be starting radio commercials on KNCO on September 13th. On these commercials you will hear your friends and neighbors explaining why they joined the Tea Party Patriots and encouraging you to vote. If you hear someone you know on the air, call them and thank them for their support.

Prop 19 Discussion -- Changes CA Law to Legalize Marijuana
Wednesday, September 22nd -- 6:00 p.m.
Veterans Hall, Grass Valley

This is sponsored by the Grass Valley/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce and the Coalition for a Drug-Free Nevada County. There will be food available at 5:00 p.m. with the program starting at 6:00 p.m. Panel members from the schools, courts, healthcare providers, the business community and the Department of Justice will share their insight on changes that could affect us all if Prop 19 passes.

The Nevada County Tea Party Patriots have taken a "NO" positions because of the enormous costs involved setting up a new government agency -- especially during a recession.

We think this should be of interest to everyone in our community no matter how you decide to vote.
