To All NCTPP Members:

The rally in Sacto went quite well, though the attendance was not what we expected. We had about 75-80 people there from the NCTPP. Fifty six of us went by bus. Tom provided a great pop-up that gave us a meeting place and lots of shade. Thanks, Tom.

Elaine and I went to Truckee to get a group started up there. We spoke at the Tahoe/Truckee Republican Women Federated BBQ. There is a lot of interest but this is just the first step. I still do not have someone to head it up. If you know someone in Truckee that might be willing to help, please call them.

Our radio commercials started on Monday, 9/13. I think you will be pleased with the results. We still need more of you to volunteer to record a commercial. Let me know if you can help. It's easy and will only take about ten minutes to record. I can send you some scripts so that you will get an idea as to what is said. Everyone's story is a little different.

We also need volunteers to head up work on the many committees NCTPP needs.

I have listed the committees and the goals of each:

Public Relations: This will involve working closely with our events committee and our finance committee. We have been running so fast because of our growth that PR is the last thing we bring into play. We're lucky that we've done so well. The committee will need to become familiar with the media players in radio, newspaper, local TV and others. At this time, we have an excellent relationship with all the players.
Strategic Planning: This committee is critical to our future growth. Though it may seem obvious, if you don't know where you are going, you'll never get there. Right now we don't have a road map. The need to have a plan for each of the next five years starting in 2011. You will work with the finance committee, events committee and PR.
Fund Raising: Money is the fuel that powers everything we do. Right now we get the bulk of our donations from tee-shirts, hats, bumper stickers, etc. We must find a way to tap into larger and more reliable sources. We should have a pay-pal account set in the next few weeks. That will help a lot. Creative ideas are what this committee needs to produce.
Speaker's Bureau: This is my favorite. There are many organizations in the community that are looking for speakers at their events, That's us! You don't have to be a speaker to be on this committee. We need the committee to arrange dates and places for others to do the speaking. We are developing Power Point presentations at this time. If you wish to speak, you will be trained. This will become another source to recruit members and donation
Phone Tree: There are quite a few of our members who don't have computers but would like to know what's going on. That's where the Phone Tree Committee comes in, by making calls to these people. It takes very little time as most of our members do have the internet. It probably won't even consume two hours a week...probably less.
Mailing Committee: On the rare occasion that we need to send something in the mail, you will be there to fold and stuff. We haven't had the need to do so yet, but you will be held in reserve until that time. You may also want to serve on the Phone Tree.

You don't have to give a lot of time. A couple of hours a week is all we need. It will make an enormous difference.

It's gotten to the point that Elaine and I are burning ourselves out. We really do need your help. We need you to volunteer to become part of the committee of your choice so that we can work on other pressing issues. Please help us!

Stan and Elaine
