Call to Arms
9/12 Rally
Greetings!

You recently received our latest NCTPP newsletter. Usually I take a couple of weeks before sending another, but there are some very important issues coming at us like a freight train and you need to know what's happening.

If you are planning to take one of our buses to the Sacramento Tea Party 9/12 Rally at McClellan Park, you need to get your tickets now. We need to confirm with the bus company by September 1st, the number of buses we are ordering. Get your reservations at Gold-n-Green Rentals, 302 Railroad Ave, Grass Valley, just off Idaho-Maryland Road. The cost is $20 per seat round-trip. Cash or check only. No phone orders. No refunds. Bring chairs, umbrella, suntan lotion , sign and banners. The property owners are providing the site at no charge and their catering company will be selling any refreshments or food you may need. For that reason, no ice chests or coolers will be permitted. If you have any questions, contact us at elaine@mecklermail.com.

See the flyer at the bottom of this newsletter for more information about the rally.

The Sacramento event is costing $82,000 to put on. There are no corporate sponsors, just people like you and me reaching into our pockets and giving whatever we can. This is a Western States event with Tea Party Patriots coming in from Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Nevada, California and other places. An event this size does cost a lot. I have personally gone over this budget and it is fiscally responsible, as you would expect. Patty Meckler has outlined in a letter some creative ways for you to help. Click here to read her letter. Please do what you can.

Mark Meckler's appearance on Face the Nation originally scheduled for Sunday, August 29th has been postponed. It will be rescheduled for a later date. I'll keep you informed.

~~~
Our September 9th general meeting will be held at the Nevada County Horsemen's Club as announced in the last newsletter. The only change is that we will not have the bar open. Our insurance company charges a high premium when alcohol is served. There will be snacks and beverages available.
Date:September 9th
Time:7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Place:Nevada County Horseman's Club
From Brunswick and the freeway, go 7/10 of a mile up Brunswick.
It will be on the left-hand side of the street.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Meg Whitman has backed away from supporting Proposition 23, the measure that would suspend AB32 until employment levels in California reached 5.5%. George Rebane has written an excellent article on the subject, which I strongly recommend you read. Click here to download the article. AB32 is a business killer throughout the state. It has caused a lot of the unemployment (12.3%), the closing of businesses large and small, and hardships on our neighbors, friends and family. The NCTPP Board of Directors has strongly endorsed a YES vote on Proposition 23.
We believe that we must all take the time and effort to educate ourselves on the candidates and ballot measures before we cast our votes. We have sent all of you our recommendations for the ballot measures based on our mission statement. We cannot recommend or oppose any candidate as that would violate our tax-exempt status. If you really want to do something for our country, you must vote! Don't say your vote doesn't count, every vote counts. Voting is the most important obligation we have to our country. PLEASE VOTE!!!
Another article I recommend is by Jennifer C. Braceras from Boston, Mass. It is very informative to all of us in the Tea Party movement. This is an article that should be forwarded to everyone you know around the country. Click here to download the article.
Our success has been incredible across the country and here in Nevada County. All the credit goes to you and the volunteers who work so hard to make everything we do just right. Thank you for your continued support.
A CALL TO ARMS FOR ALL TEA PARTY PATRIOTS!!
As you know, we are all now a part of the fastest growing grass roots movement in the history of our republic. We have truly been moving mountains - and we have been doing so while living up to our goal of fiscal responsibility.
Now, as a major election approaches, our costs for radio announcements, rental fees for meeting locations, printing costs and rally expenses are escalating and we need your help!
We are not asking you to buy a $5000 ticket to a "big name" dinner. And we know you have many demands on your pocketbook. But if you are able to make a donation of any size - $1, $5, $10, $25 or more, we guarantee your money will be carefully and judiciously spent on our efforts to create a Tea Party Patriots organization that will make a positive change in our country.
Please send your check, made out to NCTPP to:
Thank You
