 Luncheon Canceled

We are canceling our June $5 luncheon due to the many other events on and around that date.

Our lunches will resume in July. We will inform you of the location and date in a future email.

Greetings!

V O T E

The most cherished responsibility we have as citizens is to vote. Our Founding Fathers gave us the freedoms we have today through their collective sacrifices, Most of them lost their properties, their families and their lives to allow us to have the freedom we have today.

Tens of thousands of brave men and women died in battle and tens of thousands more were disabled so we could continue to live free lives. This battle continues today in far off lands. And, the battle continues here in our great country.

Poll after poll currently shows that "the people" no longer trust the government whether at the local or state or federal level. Our representatives read the same polls but just don't care. They care about their own self-interests and power. They don't care about us!

Our elected representatives no longer look to the Constitution as the blueprint for freedom. They no longer listen to the people who have elected them. They lie, they cheat, they promise anything and everything to get elected and then forget us. Yes, there are exceptions but they are few.

So, when you vote, choose who or what you vote for very carefully. YOUR vote does count. Use it wisely.

There is a terrific book out titled "The 5,000 Year Leap" that I highly recommend. It chronicles the words and actions of our Founding Fathers as to how they created the Constitution. Their own words reveal the conflicts, the decision making process, and books and words that inspired them.

In better knowing these incredible men, we can appreciate the document that has inspired freedom around the world. We are the only country in the world where people still line up for years to get in and enjoy the freedoms that no other country offers.

Think about that when you hear others, both here and abroad, speaking ill of the United States of America.

One last thing, it's time to speak up. For much too long the conservatives in this country have turned the other cheek when criticized by the opposition. For much too long we have let them determine the rules of the debate.

If someone is a lying, call them a liar. If someone is a cheat, let it be told. If someone is immoral, tell it like it is. Unless we stand-up for that which we believe, we lose. We personally need to applaud those that do the right thing. As the Tea Party Patriots we cannot endorse or oppose any candidate, but as a citizen we can...and should.

Sincerely,

Stan Meckler, President
Nevada County Tea Party Patriots

Rasmussen Survey on Tea Party Patriot Movement

According to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey:

  • Forty-six percent (46%) of U.S. voters say the Tea Party movement is good for the country.
  • Thirty-one percent (31%) disagree and say it's bad for the country.
  • Another 13% say it's neither.
  • But just 16% of voters say they are actually members of the so-called Tea Party, a loose knit group of Americans nationwide protesting big government and high taxes.

Citizen Power Campaign - Update
-- Larry, Clare, and the rest of the Citizen Power Camp

Please check out this weeks blog posts. Putting Union Jobs Before Children's Health is almost unbelievable. It seems that the teachers' and nurses' unions are much more interested in keeping their jobs than saving the lives of children. And as usual, the Politicians in Sacramento will probably roll over for the unions. And what of the afflicted children and their families? Not on the unions' or the pols' radar, apparently.

Tough Love For Teachers shows how NJ and CA are responding to teachers' unrealistic demands. We are hoping that the people of California are getting mad as hell and will take action. We also hope that our governor can channel his inner Chris Christie -- show some real leadership and give the teachers and their union some badly needed tough love.

If you find an interesting article or want to share your thoughts about this issue, please feel free to log in and post a blog of your own. Let's keep up the fight in the court of public opinion so we're all the more ready for the election.
