Greetings!

April has been a great month for your Nevada County Tea Party Patriots.

On April 1st we had the Candidate Forum at the Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Building. All 18 candidates for Nevada County offices attended and were well received by the audience. KNCO and The Union were our co-sponsors and were also the moderators of the event. They also provided all the publicity and broadcast our event live on KNCO.

Compliments from the candidates and the audience were many as everyone agreed that this was a professionally handled non-partisan event.

Our events committee did an outstanding job as did all the volunteers who set-up and tore-down after the event. Many thanks need to go to KNCO & The Union for guiding us and handling their role as moderators.

April 15th, Tax Day, was another big day for the Tea Party Patriots across the country. The NCTPP had three full buses (168 people) go to Sacramento from the Nevada County Fairgrounds, plus many people drove down or took the trains. The weather was great, the crowds were enthusiastic, the speakers, as usual, were inspirational, and everyone had a great time.

Ginny Rapini of the NorCal Tea Party Patriots and a coordinator for the Sacramento TPP and her group put on the best event that anyone could imagine. It was flawless. In fact, the California Highway Patrol said it was the best that they had ever seen.

As usual, there were no problems and the place was left as clean as when we got there.

The media can say whatever they want but, we know the truth. We are Americans first. We don't leave places a mess, we don't cause any problems for law enforcement, we don't break windows, turn-over cars, loot stores, or scream obscenities. We do exactly what our Constitution says we can do. We peacefully assemble to air our grievances. Yet, we are criticized by the media because they don't like our message. They call us thugs, uneducated, wing-nuts and much worse. Why? Because, they are scared to death of our growing power. They read the polls. They know that the Tea Party is more popular than the Democrats or Republicans. They are invested in the status quo, and we threaten the status quo. I consider their name-calling a compliment. It shows just how scared they are of us.

We finally got our new Tea Party Patriots hats. They are finely embroidered and you can get one for a $15 donation. You can get yours at Mark Davis Plumbing, 12815 Colfax Highway (174), in Cedar Ridge. They also have our t-shirts and bumper stickers.

There is a very large selection of TPP items at our national site, www.teapartypatriots.org.

We Need Your Feedback!

We need your help with an idea we are considering. Recently we attended a meeting of the Redding Tea Party Patriots. They have a group that's similar in size to ours but they hold weekly meetings that draw over 300 people. The key is they have "break-out" groups after the general meeting to discuss subjects of interest. As an example, they have a group that discusses the First Amendment, another that discusses community problems, another for Second Amendment issues, separation of church & state, and so forth.

We see this as a monthly event at this time. My questions to you are:

  • Do you think this is a good idea for us?
  • Do you, or anyone you know, have the knowledge to conduct a specific group?
  • Do you have any suggestions for a group subject?Would you like to attend a group meeting?
  • Do you know of any location (eg: church, school) that would be available for this? If you do, please contact them and find out availability and costs.

Please email me with your comments and suggestions.

One of our own Nevada County Tea Party Patriots, who heads up the Lake of the Pines group with his wife, Wendy, is the aulthor of this excellent book. This is Glen Amos' first book and it's an important read for all Tea Party Patriots. The Obama Mantra, Awakening, and Enemies Within are just a few of the chapter titles.
