The event was co-sponsored by the NCTPP, KNCO and The Union. KNCO & The Union were the moderators and did a very professional job. Our volunteers were equally up to the task handling all the set-up, stage management and take-down. Many thanks to all, especially our events committee. The audience was interested and polite throughout the event with no disruptions. We received many compliments after the event from both candidates and audience.
There seemed to be an organized effort by about 100 people to not donate when they came in. We would politely ask for a $5 contribution to support the veterans and some would say, "I don't support the veterans" or "I don't believe in your cause". If that wasn't bad enough, many had a very hostile attitude. As soon as the Clerk-Recorder portion was over, many of these same people left. A few were quoted as saying that they were there to make sure that there were no racial comments during the event. That shows you how uninformed these people are. They only believe what is convenient for them. The truth just doesn't matter. It never does.
We invited the Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians to have a table at our Candidate Forum. That all accepted. Then the Democrats backed out because they said they didn't believe in what we stand for. They missed a great opportunity to register voters and hand-out literature. So, we left their table up with their name on it and the email from their chairperson with the rejection of our offer. This attitude is a major reason for the partisanship in our local, state and federal governments.
We know who we are. We know that they will never listen, because they can't fight the truth, and the truth is a bright shinning light. The Tea Party movement grows stronger every day. All the polls show that our movement is more popular than the Republicans and the Democrats and that scares them. That's why they lie about us.
You've been to our events and know who we are. We never call names, we don't interrupt speakers, we are always civil even when we disagree. Can that be said about those that oppose us?

The next big event is on April 15th at the State Capitol in Sacramento. It's scheduled to run from noon to 4 pm. We have three buses leaving from Nevada County and, by the time you read this, they should be sold-out. This event promises to be bigger and better than last year. The NorCal Tea Party Patriots is still looking for volunteers to help with the event. Many of our members have already volunteered. If you would like to help with set-up, tear down, merchandise sales, signature gathering for petitions, or new member sign-up, contact Mark Silva at hmccomm@yahoo.com . I guarantee you will have fun. Elaine and I look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,
Stan Meckler, President
Nevada County Tea Party Patriots
