Donations Needed for Central Valley Farmers
The Central Valley of California, after having been attacked by radical environmental law that aims to put animal life over the lives of humans, has now been abandoned by our federal government. This prosperous region that produces over 14% (25% according to some estimates) of the nation's food supply and as much as 99% of certain products like pistachios, cannery tomatoes and almonds, is being dried up not by drought or natural causes, but by our own government. Click here to learn about Saving the Valley that Hope Forgot.
In the meantime, we, along with countless thousands from across the country, will do what Americans do best: support our own. With over 40,000 employable people out of work we will focus on sustaining the basic needs of our farmers/laborers and their families until victory in the water war is achieved.
Please donate gift cards from Target and/or Wal-Mart, canned food or dry food, warm clothing (new or it can be clean and gently used) for babies, children and adults. For cash donations, please send a money order or personal check made payable to "Saving the Valley". Also, new unwrapped toys would be greatly appreciated.
Drop off your donations at Gold-N-Green Rentals (273-6604) located at 302 Railroad Avenue (off Idaho Maryland near the 49er Fun Park) in Grass Valley. The last day to drop off your donations is Friday, November 20, 2009 before noon.
Or join the caravan that will be delivering the items we've collected. Meet us at the K-Mart Shopping Center on McKnight at 8:30 am on Saturday.
