To qualify you must have time, be willing to work, and be a member of the PTSA. Not a member of the PTSA? Not a problem, you can still join via our PTSA website (which you can also get to from the school's website), or by filling out an application in the front office.

Leadership Sandy Springs announces
Youth LeadershipSandy Springs 2011-12
Current 9th & 10th graders interested in a unique leadership opportunity will want to apply for one of 30 spots in next year's new Youth Leadership Sandy Springs class being offered by Leadership Sandy Springs. Students will get a close up look at how government works, the environment, public safety, the economy and social services in the City of Sandy Springs.
Annual Spartan Clothing Drive has begun!
Now through March 25, please send in gently worn clothing with your student or drop off in boxes in the front office and media center. The 1st period class with most clothing wins breakfast and the clothes will be donated to the Community Action Center, making it a win-win for all!

Clubs in the Community Day is our Student Leadership Association's annual community service day. An email with volunteer needs will be sent later this week.

Order your spring bedding plants, container plants and hanging baskets online at www.northspringsmagnet.com/fundraising.html. by March 31.These beautiful, high quality plants are direct from the grower and can be picked up at NSCHS on April 16, during our annual Volunteering for a Better Sandy Springs Day.

This year Saturday @ North Springs begins at 2pm with carnival games, concerts and performances, a dusk run at 5:30pm, food, the amazing new performing arts show The Exhibit from 6:30-8:30pm and a free classic movie outdoors at 8:45pm! Don't miss this fun, unique student-run day to support the clubs and activities at North Springs. Your volunteer help is appreciated.

Many thanks to the 30 families who donated clinic supplies, and earned their 2 volunteer hours. Your hours have been logged online. The clinic greatly appreciates the items you sent in.
Volunteer hours for the year to date are now 2,601, approximately 25% of our goal or 10,700 for this year. 123 families have participated, about 12% of our population. If you still need to contribute your 10 hours, there are several opportunities coming up in March and April that are listed below.

Please attend this special information night hosted by our counselors and graduation coach Jennifer Susko so your student can stay on track for graduation.

GOVERNANCE BOARD UPDATE
INTERSTED IN SERVING ON GOVERNANCE BOARD?
Submit your application before Spring Break! Governance Board Elections are held each Spring. This year we will be electing 3 New Parent Members. All are two year terms. Come help us make a difference at North Springs! CHARTER RENEWAL
North Springs is in the process of revising our charter. The Governance Board has set up a Charter Steering Committee and we are gathering information from teachers, parents and students to guide us as we strengthen and focus our charter petition. You can find answers to some common questions on the North Springs website www.northspringshigh.com. Look for the new Charter Renewal Banner on the front page!
We also have a Parent Lunch and Learn Meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 31st at noon to discuss what is new in this charter! This is Clubs in the Community Day at North Springs so COME VOLUNTEER, BRING YOUR LUNCH AND LEARN ABOUT OUR CHARTER! 360 PARENT SURVEY
You had your opportunity to let us know what's working and what's not at North Springs! Thanks to those who took the time to give us your valuable feedback! All three 360 Surveys have now been completed. We are currently compiling the information and we will present our findings to the various stakeholders in April.
The presentation for Parents will be on Saturday, April 16th at The Saturday at North Springs event. The time is yet to be announced. The Governance Board also will have a booth at this fair, so stop by and ask us about the 360 results!
