Greetings!
"If you believe it, you will see it." De Witt Jones What do you believe? What shapes your vision of your own life and your perception of the world around you? How will you nurture that vision in the coming days, weeks and months?
Here at the Franciscan Living Urban Center for Spirituality we believe that intention leads to action. With this in mind we began the year on January 1st by Opening the New with a SoulCollage® workshop filled to overflowing. Participants made personal meditation cards and then spent time in verbal and written exercises designed to facilitate inner illumination. Several participants intend to continue nurturing this vision by participating in our SoulCollage® studio which will be offered in late January and throughout February. The studio is open to all who are interested in (or curious about) the SoulCollage® process regardless of prior experience.
We also believe that tending inner space is vital to health and well being. To nurture that vision in February we are offering several opportunities to Soul Tend, beginning with The Heart of Spirituality led by Lana Engler. In this two part series offered on either Thursday mornings or Tuesday evenings, Lana will guide us as we explore matters of the heart in light of the sacred. The monthly introductory SoulCollage® workshop led by Margie Will focuses on the Pathways of the Heart through the creation of unique and personal meditation cards. Sabbath Prayer, also led by Margie Will, introduces the metaphor of HeartSongs as the nameless longing for union with the Source of Life. Individual spiritual direction, offered by trained directors Lew Robinson and Margie Will, is another way to nurture the spirit. If you would like to learn more about the ancient path of spiritual direction, please contact our office for details.
We believe that to err is human and is cause to celebrate. To nurture that vision in March we are offering a three part retreat on The Way of Imperfection. This newly developed experience, designed for anyone who knows they're not perfect, will explore the wisdom stories of many traditions and faiths through prayer, music, and sacred conversation. Our regular offerings of Sabbath Prayer, BodyPrayer and SoulCollage® will also be available in March. As we once again step across the threshold of a new year. The fresh path beckons with subtle promise. Mysteries await us. Veiled inner lands invite us to self-discovery, exploration and renewal. We hope to meet you as a companion on the pilgrimage.
Pax et Bonum, (Peace and All Good)
