Avago supplies the world’s brightest 0.5 W PLCC-4 SMD LEDs in an industry-standard PLCC-4 package (3.2 x 2.8 x 1.9 mm). For these LEDs, EBV offers a special service for selecting narrow colour- and brightness bins, available from stock in warm-, neutral- and cool white. Avago Technologies is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of mid-power LEDs. The 0.5 W PLCC-4 range has been established on the market for five years now and is being developed constantly. The cool white LED is now available with minimum 43 lm at 150 mA drive current (typ. 50 lm at 150 mA). The brightness and efficiency of the warm- and neutral white LEDs have also been further increased. The heat dissipation of these LEDs has been optimised so that they can manage high driver currents and produce more light output with greater efficiency. Their wide viewing angle of 120° and their compact design make these LEDs the ideal solution for advertisement panel and billboard backlighting, channel lettering, decorative and mood lighting, and for use in automotive lighting applications.
