Greetings!
From Ecclesiastes 3 (and from the Beatles), we hear about how there are different seasons that rotate in one's life. The same remains true in a ministry cycle. There are seasons where there is much work and one must "ramp up" to make it happen. There are other times for rest and reflection. Still others for planning and preparation.
For CBOQ Youth, the summer is a time for some rest and already preparation for what's ahead. As such, the CBOQ Youth office will be closed July 19-31 for some rest and relaxation.
In the meantime, may you live the season God has placed you in with the fullness that comes from His Spirit.

MOMENTUM: 2010-2011 theme
CBOQ Youth is proud to introduce the theme for 2010-2011: Momentum! Focusing on one of our 5Cs, this year's concept is "contagious and active in their faith" as we challenge our students to not just own their faith, but to also take it beyond their comfort zone to wherever Jesus is moving towards.
As well, there is a curriculum CBOQ Youth has developed with seven writers to elaborate on this theme. The "Momentum" curriculum will be based on the student-centred learning approach where teachers/facilitators help students discover God's truth through a series of activities.
NEW this year: the curriculum is available for download from our website FOR FREE. You can also order a hard-copy for $40 or a CD-rom with all the content for $10 by emailing Brennan.
For more information about the theme, click here.

Hamilton Ti-Cat Pre-evangelistic Event
Date: October 22, 2010 Location: Iver Wynne Stadium, Hamilton ON Cost: $25 CBOQ Youth's pre-evangelistic event with the Hamilton Ticats isn't just a discounted football game. It's a first-point-of-contact for your ministry's non-Christian friends. It is a safe event which non-Christians are interested in and demonstrates Jesus' current influence in other students and athletes.
This year, Steve Kearns, former Ticats player and currently serving with Athletes in Action and Ticats chaplain, will be MCing the night. We have a great team working on bringing you a post-game where your students can bring their friends and introduce them to Christ in a comfortable atmosphere. The program will take place following the game that will include some high-energy games along with a testimony from a Hamilton Ticat player (last year, there were 4 players sharing their faith). As well, since this will be happening in late-October, this is a great opportunity to launch into your youth ministry year as an outreach event for your ministry.
The registration package will be available in early August. Registration begins Tuesday, September 14 at 6:30pm.

Post-secondary Connections
As graduating students are receiving acceptance letters from various post-secondary institutions, helping them make that connection to their new home is a vital step. Over the past few months, CBOQ Youth has compiled a list of churches and on-campus contacts at virtually all Ontario and English-speaking Quebec colleges and universities. We believe one effective way to help your students continue to connect in a Christ-centred community is to facilitate that connection to a new group of Christ-followers.
If you have students going to college or university, feel free to contact Jon, Brennan or Alvin to receive a list of contacts; you can also call 416-620-2946.
