Greetings!
What happens when you fill a room with pyro, music and over 600 students and leaders? You get an Avalanche or a Blizzard. Right now, we are in between Avalanche and Blizzard where we will hosting over 1600 students and leaders with over 150 staff as we explore what it means to cultivate intimacy with Christ.
In the next couple of months, we also have a team of 28 from 4 CBOQ churches planning to go to Montreal for a mission trip March 12-20, 2010.
Continue to pray for our retreat season as we strive to help churches build momentum in their youth ministries during the winter season, and for those students and leaders who will hopefully encounter God in a significant way.
Serving Christ with you, Tim and Alvin

Avalanche 2010 Update What an Avalanche! With 589 jr. high students and leaders (our largest Avalanche yet) all invading the facilities of Muskoka Woods, and with the worship-leading by Esoteric and God's word through Dave Overholt, many students were impacted. Estimations are at least 35 students made first time commitments to Jesus, and many more made significant faith steps in their journey with Christ. Although the weather was relatively warm, the snow stayed and people enjoyed God's creation.

Young Adult Short-Term Missions: Czech Republic Date: May 13-25, 2010 Location: Czech Republic Cost: $2500 (inc. airfare, all ground costs)
Young adults from across Canada are invited to apply to be part of a team that will travel to the Czech Republic in May 2010. Participants will meet in Toronto and travel together to Literomice, where they will partner in ministry with Bethel House. Located in a beautiful and historic Czech town, Bethel House is a ministry that understands its community, and is working hard to address the spiritual and social needs around them.
The
team will teach English classes to youth and adults, lead presentations
in schools and other community venues, as well as participate in
sports. In preparation for the trip, team members will have required
readings in the area of integral mission. Team Leader Kevin Munroe will
work to prepare the team and guide everyone to and from the Czech
Republic. Kevin was co-leader of the 2007 young adult team that
travelled to the same location and is excited to be returning. CBM
hosts Jeff Carter and Vasil Vasilev will ensure that everything is in
place for the team and will also show their guests some of the famous
sites of Prague.
This
mission trip will provide an ideal opportunity for young adults to
think critically about the necessity of, and strategies for, becoming a
positive Christian presence in their communities. This mission
opportunity is planned by Canadian Baptist Ministries and Canadian
Baptist Youth. For more info, click here.

300 volunteers come together to explore the message of Jesus. Students

When it comes to teenagers and their faith, many struggle with finding
meaning and relevance to their daily lives. The theme this year "In The
Flesh" will explore how experiencing God can be real, tangible and
relevant.
