Our dog ScoutHappy summer!

Last weekend, Ruby the shelter sweetie, and Obie the airedale were checking each other out in the meadow while their people watched the sunset from the lodge (scrimshaw pilsner and chardonnay in hand). And we thought: this is JUST what we always wanted.

If sunsets, frolicking dogs, and tasty beverages sound swell to you too, then we've got an August special you won't want to miss:

Our dog DaisyThe Dog Days of Summer Special!
Stay for at least two nights anytime in August and your pooch stays free (that's about a $40 dollar savings and even more if you have two dogs). All you gotta do is call us at (707) 937-1543 and tell Amanda or Nicole you want the "Dog Days" special and you're all set.

If you don't have a pet to bring, come anyway! The misty summer mornings are making the afternoon sunshine extra special right now. And when you add cold beer, plenty of wine, and abundant snacks during our Friday and Saturday afternoon happy hours, your getaway is pretty much perfect.

We hope to say hello in person soon, and until then, feel free to send us an email right here!

More new (old)...

We're madly working on putting our own spin  on the cabins, and have two more finished since last month, phew.

The first of the two newly finished cabins is Nature, sister cabin to the as-yet unfinished Nurture. Nature is full-on, old-school CABIN-tastic. Lots of redwood, owls, canoes, deer, birds, and funky cabin-kitsch.

Nature...kitchenThink Adirondacks lodge meets a scout camp in 1962. Totally comfy, utterly cozy, and a little bit fun. Nature has a king-size bed, fireplace, bathroom, kitchen), deck, and a tv with dvd player.

Play, the bed!PLAY
And then there's Play, a bright, affordable room with a queen bed, refrigerator, coffee maker, bathroom, tv with dvd player, deck, and a whole lot of happy.

Play...the wall!Play is all about fun, with a selection of new and old games, word-search wallpaper and a chalkboard wall to record your finds, vintage bingo art, and really mod fabrics that graced someone's rec room a long time ago and now grace our own little rec room here.

Play and Nature join Curious and Curious-er as our first four re-done rooms since we bought the inn in May. In case you missed last month's news, here's info and photos of them, too.
CuriousCURIOUS is a king room with kitchen and features all sorts of ways to indulge your curiosity about the world around you, including old binocs, a telescope, field guides to flora and fauna, and just enough science and nature activities to keep things interesting when you're done with the sun and fun outside.

Curious-erCURIOUS-ER is, well, curious-er. Dogs wearing suits. An 8 ball. Kreskin's ESP. Old-timey circus. Medical oddities. Ripley's Believe it or Not. A 1950s, perfect condition, green vinyl Viverator. Curious-er has a queen and single bed, electric fireplace, refrigerator, deck, and bathroom.

Curious and Curious-er can be rented together or separately.
If you'd like to book any of these cabins - please CALL (707) 937-1543 and tell us which of the redecorated cabins you'd like. While you can use our web site to book rooms 24/7, our new system and web site that will allow you to pick your room won't be up for another month or so. Thanks for your patience!

The Andiron new logo
What's The Andiron? It's what Pacific Mist was called for many years before its current incarnation and what all the locals seem to know us  as. And...that's what it will be again come September 27 at our festive ribbon-cutting shindig. Don't worry, we'll have a dual identity for some time while folks adjust so you can keep thinking (and booking) Pacific Mist for a long time.

We like you!
Seriously. We do. We're having a blast meeting the people and pets who visit us here in Little River. If there was a place where we could review you and say what great guests you are, we'd do it. But there isn't, boo. HOWEVER, there IS a place (well, two places) where YOU can review US. If you had a good time, and want to earn the eternal gratitude of two fledgling innkeepers, we would be so grateful for your review on Yelp or TripAdvisor. It takes about a minute, and it helps us make this special place even more special. THANK YOU!
