Greetings!

Welcome to SmallCorp News, our bi-monthly effort to stay in touch and share some of the valuable tips and information we've accumulated in our 40 years of manufacturing museum-quality display cases and picture frames.

If you find the newsletter useful, please feel free to pass it along to a colleague who might benefit from it, and if you have suggestions on improvements or future topics, don't hesitate to let me know.

Thank you again for your association with SmallCorp, we couldn't do it without you.

Best regards,

Wayne's over six feet tall; that's one big sheet of acrylic!

Optium Glazing at the Coca-Cola HQ

We recently supplied 6mm Optium glazing as large as 72" x 120" for a series of very large murals at the Cocal-Cola world headquarters in Atlanta.  Artist Eric Grohe hand-painted the historic soda shop scenes, SmallCorp provided the Optium glazing, and NewSouth Construction built the facade to mimic a classic storefront and installed the murals.

Good Times in Albuquerque

We had a fabulous time in Albuquerque at the American Institute for Conservation's 40th Annual Meeting in May.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth.  Our SPD-Smartglass case was a big hit.

SmartGlass blocks light transmission into the case when darkened, and allows light to pass through when clear, reducing light exposure for sensitive objects. The SmartGlass case can be activated by a button or a motion sensor. We were demonstrating both at AAM.

We look forward to seeing you in Indianapolis next spring!

Aluminum Angle for Extra Big Frames

We're stocking 3" x 5" x 1/8" aluminum angle that we can trim down or use as is for extra large picture frames. Bring 'em on!

Wall-mounted Label Holders

We have developed a  new manufacturing method that allows for great flexibility in size and width with minimal setup costs. This means that even small runs of unusual sizes can now be manufactured affordably. Please keep us in mind for your next project.

Keepin' Busy

We've been very busy this last year. Thank you to everyone who has made it possible; we truly appreciate it.  In an effort to increase our shop capacity and serve you better, we recently purchased a brand new router and reorganized our shop floor to improve workflow.

 SmallCorp's New Router

The recent upswing has meant that our lead times have been a little longer than we would like. We apologize if that's been inconvenient and we thank you for your patience. We're expecting to be back to normal lead times very soon.

Teylers Museum finds 3 Raphaels

The Teylers Museum in Harlem in the Netherlands has revealed that it owns three more works by Raphael than had previously been thought, bringing its tally up to 12. The museum is preparing a major Raphael exhibition due to open on 28 September (until 6 January 2013), the first solo exhibition of the artist in the country.
