Just a Reminder
Greetings!

Welcome to SmallCorp News, our bi-monthly effort to stay in touch and share some of the valuable tips and information we've accumulated in our 40 years of manufacturing museum-quality display cases and picture frames.

If you find the newsletter useful, please feel free to pass it along to a colleague who might benefit from it, and if you have suggestions on improvements or future topics, don't hesitate to let me know.

Thank you again for your association with SmallCorp, we couldn't do it without you.

Best regards,

Brass Picture Frames Anyone?

Are you finding much demand for brass frames these days? We're not talking about one frame per year, we're asking about regular, steady demand.

We're considering offering brass picture frames again.  Would you be interested?  Please let us know:

I think SmallCorp should offer brass frames again

I don't think there's enough demand for brass frames

SmallCorp in the News

SmallCorp is proud to be featured in the January/February issue of Architecture Leaders Today magazine.

ALT Jan/Feb Magazine Cover

"Good Things in Small Packages" starts on page 126.  It provides a nice overview of our business and highlights some recent projects.  There's also a related story about Staples & Charles LLC, exhibit designers and museum consultants with whom we worked on recent projects for Yale University and the Detroit Institute of Arts. "Cool and Curated" starts on page 120 and includes many photos of the cases that resulted from our collaboration at Yale.

40 Years of SmallCorp

Ruby Red Slippers

It's our ruby anniversary! Van and Molly started making frames and museum exhibit products back in 1968, and SmallCorp officially  began in 1972.  It's been 40 years since then, and we've worked on countless projects with many, many wonderful people.

Thank you all so much for your support over the years. We couldn't have done it without you.

Blowing Our Own Horn

Check out our recent work for The Frick Collection in New York. The museum recently enclosed its portico, creating a prominent and welcoming  space.

Picture Framing as an Economic Indicator

A recent New York Times article suggests that the picture framing industry is a good indicator of the direction of the larger economy. It also predicts an economic upswing for 2012. Sounds great to us!

Policy Reminder

This has come up a few times recently and it seems worth clarifying.

We derive our estimated shipping dates by taking the date that you approve the order confirmation that we email you and adding the current lead time for that department.

Therefore, it's critical that you review and approve the order confirmation right away.

Things come up, plans change, or a customer hits you with a last-minute adjustment.  That's ok, it happens.  Please keep in mind, though, that we may have to change the estimated shipping date if the parameters of the project change. In the most extreme cases, you may have to go to the back of the line and start over.  That seems fair, right?
